Arya has a ring of protection +1, plus a some stone that gives another AC bonus, although sometimes she swaps that for the regenerating stone.

I can't quite remember what Viconia has but I think she has a magic shield, 19 Dex, some fancy red armour, and an amulet that gives negative plane protection.

Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
    You'll have bad times
    And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand
But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
    And if you love him
    Oh be proud of him
'Cause after all he's just a man
    Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely...

Stand by your man, but counsel him against revenge. You left that part out.

Or maybe Arya more in the mood for Marvin Gaye than Tammy Wynette:

Sheesh. Remember this is Baldur's Gate II, not the musical version of the Sims.

Anyway, it seems that all we have been doing lately is answer riddles. Riddles here and riddles there. But they were mostly pretty easy and we got stacks of XP for answering them so now we are out in the open again and appear to have been released from the Asylum although I'm still not sure where exactly we are.

Arya is now super powerful with her Kensai and Thief skills along with special effects of her katana. Dual (or multi) classing does seem to be far more overpowered than single classing in this game. The other five characters spend most of their time now twiddling their thumbs (or in the case of Keldorn and Viconia, arguing). It's almost the case where I should try letting each one of the have a go at taking on enemies by themselves just to see if they can. But no doubt there are some encounters coming up that will require all their skills.....

Perhaps not all of their skills but very special tactics. I like the riddles, even the 15th time you answer them.

    @joacqin...Why?

Surely the 2nd time is a bit tedious and it is downhill after that. That is what makes this thread interesting. You remember how good it was 1st time. Jon's dungeon was my fav bit first time through... now it is the most tedious part of the game. (Still can't bring myself to use Dungeon Be Gone).

I have to disagree... even the first time through, I didn't like the dungeon. I preferred Spellhold.

I think it was the anticipation... and not having a clue what was round each corner... or whether you could rest... or which of you old buddies you would come across... spellhold was a lot more "controlled"... worst part about jon's dungeon is the tracking backwards and forwards...

I found the first level of chateau irenicus quite good the first time through. It gave a nice picture of Irenicus' nature. And I too can't get myself to use dungeon be gone. It doesn't feel right.

Anyway, after getting past RiddleLand, we had to go back to the Asylum and find the looney mages to help deal with Jon Irenicus. I thought this would be some sort of climactic and ultra-tough fight but it was a disappointment because, yet again, just like Bodhi, he just ran off after a while. What a swizz. I didn't even need to use Power Word: Reload.

But since then, this game has gone all weird:
    1) Arya has picked some crazy new skill where she can turn into Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I tried it once and although it does seem to make her really powerful, she lost 2 reputation points (now back down to 15)! So that looks like a completely useless skill that will never be used again.
    2) We seem to spend the whole time watching movies now rather than playing. First it was all those Jon and Bhaal movies, then it was Titanic as we ended up on some sinking ship fighting yet another fight that we didn't get to finish (or even really start) before we ended up in a scene from Finding Nemo talking to some sharks!

So I have no idea what is going on now, but somehow we are in some sort of Shark City. Who knows what nutty antics are around the corner....

LMAO, I can just see it know, a fight between your Slayer form, and Buffy, Buffy wins obviously...

...without giving anything away, I wouldn't give up on your slayer skill just yet, there are plenty of times in the future where you HAVE to use it, and you are already aware that you can get back up to 17 rep by getting down your local temp and throwing a few coppers here and there.

"HAVE to use" is pretty strong. There are no points where you "have" to use it, but there are definitely times where a judicious application of Murder speeds things along.

But who needs a 25 strength claw attack when you can backstab for 150 damage? Golems? Pshaw.

x1 150 backstab attack or x10 25 claw attack? Not being funny but I would like to see how a Slayer vs a Kensai/Theif would match up.

There is a lot to do and get here even though its only a side quest thrown into the main... good times are just around the corner...

I wonder how much longer this game has to go. It seems like I've been playing it forever.

I've already started thinking about my next character....I like the idea of a Wild Mage, but I also like Sorcerer, Monk, Jester or Fighter / Wizard. No, must banish those thoughts and carry on with this party! Must find Nemo!
