    HEEELLLLPPPP!!!!

I've never had this problem on my old computer, but it is RAMPANT on my new computer (which shouldnt happen). I get through Irenicus's dungeon without my computer crashing...then shortly after meeting Gaylen Bayle, my computer will crash one or two minutes after loaind the file. So, i created a new file with hopes that the problem will be solved. BUT NO!!!!

So, im turning to the gaming community to see if anyone else has this problem. (im assuming that nobody from bioware tech support gives a damn anymore).
I've uninstalled the program, reinstalled it (didnt work) I've done a full clean install (didnt work) I've installed SoA, ToB, and official patch from bioware and STILL didnt work. My computer is running winXP (didnt have problems before with win2000)...system requirements are well above minimum. So im thinking that the problem is with running winXP than win2000.

    Any help??????

One word: drivers. Either they do not work correctly or they're outdated -especially if you have SP2. I once had this problem with my old computer, that used to crash every 30 mins or so. After taking it from shop to shop, none of them knowing what was going on, it proved out to be faulty SCSI drivers. Was a real pain, but educational.

What I suggest is that you update EVERYTHING. If that doesn't help, go to the hardware manager and think carefully which one could be causing the trouble and uninstall it. If the problem persists, re-install and to the next device.

I agree with Wirhe. Get the newest version of DirectX too...it's free, so why not?

What's in you system right now? (i.e. processor, RAM, OS ect.)

You don't have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed do you? :rolling:

Baldurs Gate I and II are both compatible with Windows XP, both SP 1 and 2.

But yeah, I'd wager it's a driver problem aswell.

If not a driver problem it could be spyware. I and people I know have had games messed up and after spending days/weeks trying to figure it out it turned out to be spyware. Once that was cleaned up the game ran fine.

Norton antivirus running in the background causes such problems for me. If you have that installed.
