My FMC is currently lvl 26 (FTR), 21 (MG) 25(CLR)...about to take on Demogorgon.

Any tips on how to beat him?

Boots of speed, summons, and lock yourself to a corner. Or just haste + timestop and hack away since you do not need to worry for other party members.

I think Demogorgon may be immune to Time Stop.

He is, but his minions aren't. That allows you to go mano-a-mano without the annoyance of his summons.

Can you avoid Demogorgon and keep killing the demons he summons to harvest XP?

Also...if you buff yourself up to the gills with Imp. Alacrity to get...

Improved Haste, Stoneskin, Free action, Armors of Faith x4, Resist Fear, Chant, Barkskin (to get AC -8 BASE), DUHM (25 STR, DEX, CON), Mislead, Fireshield (Blue) and a TON of other buffs

Demogorgon should be a piece of cake, right?

I'm about to go against him, and this time I'm pulling out all the stops.

Oh, one more thing, till what level of spells is he immune to? Does it apply to both divine and arcane spells?

pierce magic is very helpful. level 5 spells and lower dont affect him, so breach doesnt work. And without taking down his protections, he'll be a nightmare.

Protection from Magical Weapons = immunity from his attacks for 4 rounds. I forget what else I used against him, but my Fighter/Mage tanked him almost indefinitely because of it. Then again, I did go overboard and had 5 of them memorized  .

@Takata: Actually, in this case, Pierce Shield works even better, because it will remove his protections while at the same time lowering his magic resistance (which was pretty high IIRC)

Prot from Magical Weapons really is the best way to go, especially if combined with Time Stop, and if you take the time to Pierce Shield a lot.

And another thing. Turn off your party AI and concentrate your attacks on Demogorgon Himself. I found that my partymembers started attacking his minions on their own. HeĀ“ll just summon more. And Improved Whirlwind pretty much leaves him whining all the time.

    Well...here's how I beat him...
I was standing up on the stairs after I asked him to show himself.

Then I immediately started casting Time Stop, so that the demons wouldn't annoy me, and then casting Improved Alacrity...then I ran down just so I could see him, then immediately cast:

    Pierce Shield x3
Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting x3...I was casting my fourth one when IA ran out. I finally cast the fourth one, then ran over to him and activated Greater Whirlwind Attack and started beating on him with Crom Faeyr, as FoA was still only +4.

The ADHWs got him down to Badly Injured, and two GWW attacks finished him off... :D

A cautionary note to anyone soloing a F/M/C without cheating:
Unless you remove the xp cap the limit for this character is Fig-18/Mag-17/Cle-19. For example this means no 9th level spells except from the scrolls you find.

Bah...the whole point of playing a multiclass like FMC solo is removing the XP cap.

Without XP Cap removal, FMC's are crap.

Oh, and I prefer to call it "removing the xp cap", not cheating... :p

All I'm saying is that that character was the result of cheating and that the advice and discussion in this topic is mostly not relevant for a soloing F/M/C vs Demogorgon.

    I disagree.

    I love a good disagreement.

F/M/C's biggest drawback is the lack of high level potential on the MU side. So Faraaz it is a bit like removing the worst thing about any other class with shadow keeper, it is at best a bit cheesy.

How did you get Imp Aclarity btw? It is level10 and without a mod F/M/C's don't get to choose any of these.

@Scythe: Shadowkeeper'd it. I removed an appropriate number of HLAs from my Innate Abilities however, so IMO that kinda makes up for it.

@Earl Grey: Mate...I think I forgot to add a very "IMO"... :) Anyway...the game's long gone, and I'm currently going through for the 53rd solo with a dwarven Kensai...so the whole discussion as of now is moot I suppose.

@Faraaz... I'm a bit like you I've solo'd almost everything. I do try to avoid SK... I've deleted it to avoid moral corruption. :) I think you can just about solo everything once you know a bit of cheese. I've not tried a beastmaster but they must be the stupidest class. Some of my favs have been the ones I thought would be the lamest... Wizard Slayers spring to mind. What is your fav?

Sorcerer, Blade, Kensai/Berserker/Wizard Slayer...all of them are long term favourites...though I've given up on them because they are just way too powerful!

Currently, I'm in love with Clerics...Priests of Lathander are cool!

Blades do get ridiculously powerful after about 2 hours of soloing by which point they have brilliant equip and animate dead - Skel Warriors. Mislead and EBS and UAI are just icing on the cake. Undoubtedly the easiest solo IMHO.

I personally like Fighter/Mages more. They're like a Blade, but gets even more spells! :p

And you can't forget the Kensai/Thief. Improved Haste + Mislead + Kai = uber awesome backstabbingness of fun.

Then there's the Cleric/Ranger. I don't understand why he gets all druid spells, but since he does, he's far more potent than either a Cleric or a Druid. It's like a Fighter/Cleric, only on crack.

I'm currently working with a Sorcerer, and I have to say, he brings out the munchkin in me... without even having to try. I mean, I had him in a party and he was good, but now when soloing, he's just plain sick. Taking out Liches in 3 rounds... Summoning a horde of Skeleton Warriors... Dragons dying from 1 spell... whee!
