In his first form he will rise from the ground like anyother summoned undead. When he starts rising hit pause. then unpause and pause very quickly (so you always end on a pause - not an unpause). You will see when his sprite appears it will have the blue circle (keep paused). While still paused, use your pickpocket on him then unpause (repause immediately after doing so he should still be blue - of course you hasted yourselve first right?).

then while he is still blue, has been pickpocketed and the game is paused click on your speach ICON and then click on his still blue circle...Unpause and pause quickly again...Then select fight and click on him and unpause (you should get him at least badly wounded before he even goes hostile...When he gives his speech about being finally released pause - read your scrolls of protection from undead and use any + 4 or +5 weapons you have (2 handed sword, +5 sling) He can also be damaged by the Ring of the Ram

    So,
    1) Make sure you are hasted.
    2) keep unpausing and pausing (in that order until he appears
    3) Pickpocket and repause immediately
    4) Seclect talk and speak then repause imediately
    5) Select fight and bash away
    6) read your protection from undead scrolls during his second manifestation
    7) use +4 or above weapons and ring of Ram
Special: If you have 2 rings of the Ram from first Pickpocting the cowled fool and you have the ability to make a simacraem (spelling) of yourself then equip both rings just before creating your double and you'll have 4 rings of the ram :)

Use a control circlet from the Underdark to charm him, then pick his pocket.

Of course, having two rings of GAXX in the firstplace is cheese so why die trying?
