The ones written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are ok but I really wouldn't comment on some of the others... Especially not the fifth age books by Jean Rabe.

Ya actually I haven't read a fantasy books for a while, I finished the dragonlance series borrowed it from my bud. Since it is summer and I only got a part-time job, I started reading lord of the rings. THey are so fricken boring, when does it start getting interesting?

Never. But I recommend the Dark Elf Trilogy(FR), Dragons of Summer Flame(DL), or Vampire of the Mists(RL).

I have to stand up for LotR. I thought they were a great series. They are just a different style of writing than D&D books.

Oh yeah. Talking sword. Heh. Sorry, there.

Well, personally I don't find that sword even slightly amusing, but then I find Jan's stories incredibly boring and he has some people in stitches, so, different strokes. (-: The funniest NPC where I'm concerned is Edwin, and the funniest non-party character hands-down the beholder in the Sahaugin city. ("Oh, I get it, a beholder's guarding it, so it HAS to be cool, right?") (-:

That's what I meant when said that not everyone would relate to the initial idea.

[IMG] I personally loved the sentient sword. Some of it's dialogues are the funniest in the game. My favorites are "I may be an intelligent sword, but I have no formal education" and "I don't know what you were expecting, but as a sword I'm pretty one-dimensional in what I want."

The funniest thing I heard on this message board was one person saying that Lilarcor said "Who's your daddy?"...at Nalia's father's funeral.

    I thought that was hillarious.

I find the combination of Minsc and Lilarcor one of the funnier aspects of the game. I realize they do not really interact but it seems like they do when the sword tells Minsc to "choke up" and "swing harder". Minsc's comment of "I need a bigger sword" is also very fitting. Of all of the character in BG2. Minsc is the one that would actually listen to the sword and follow its advice.
