Congratulations Sniper! Be free. Explore the earth and go multiply yourself (ah forget about that bye the way) ;)

We have another mark-sytem at school... From 1 til 10, 10 is highest, one is lowest you can get, 5,5 just enough... For the Exams you could only get

I had for my exams an 9,3 for English, 9,0 for Economy, 8,2 for Geography, 7,9 for Math, 7,6 for Dutch and a 6,1 for Chemistry.

The Exams counted for 50% and the other marks you got in the whole year for the other 50 percent. With that (and then you could only get full marks) I had 8,8,8,7,7,6. (Didn't learn too much that year)

Hmmm for my GCSE O levels, I got 6As and 2 Bs.
Damn, so close to getting a near perfect score!
But that was almost 3 years ago. Ah well.

    Seriously, what's the GCSE?

I took ACT(33 of 36) and SAT(1520 of 1600), AP too(passed 'em all, not recounting each), but no GCSE...

Is this the British, Irish, Canadian or Australian system?

  9. Silverblade Guest

It is the UK system, I don't get it either. I think the dutch system (which Headbanger just descriped) is much easier.
The US system is also quiet difficult to understand for somebody not from the USA.

I'm from the US, here's college grading scale:
    90-100 A
    80-89 B
    70-79 C
    60-69 D
    59 and below is failing

That AP stuff Alex mentioned is advanced placement I believe and are classes that you can take in highschool for college credit.
    Scores rang from 1-6 I think, 6 being best. Hmm maybe it's 1-5, 5 being best, I can't remember.

    GCSE
    A*, A, are very good
    B is pretty good
    C is acceptable
D is just about worth the effort
E and lower is not worth the effort.

And if you are accustomed to O levels to GCSEs basically, to pass an O level, you have to get a grade C or higher in GCSEs.

Anything below that is a fail in terms of O levels.

Ok, I understand. I was thinking of it as a test, not a grade system.

This system also has the +/- modifiers to make it more specific. Hence 100% correct = an A+(seems to be A* is the same...are there B*s too? B+s are an 89%, 90 = A-, etc. This holds true for entire spectrum.)

Congratulations all of Your HardCore Brainiacs.

The Danish system is a little story in itself Watch the numbers and be stunned.

13: Highest possible given extremely rare 1/10000

    11: An outstanding performance

    10: A great performance

    9: a good performance

    8: average

    7: below average

    6: just passed

    5: just flunked

    03: extremly poor performance

    00: Ohmygod that was ugly

Wherever did 2, 4 and 12 go? Someone in denmark must hate even numbers. It takes an average of 6 to pass most preUniversity schools in Denmark

Yeah the +/- system is sometimes used. Basically you have ten points, the top 3 are +, the middle 4 are normal, and the bottom 3 are -. Like this:
    A+ is 97-100
    A is 93-96.9
    A- is 90-92.9

And you love teachers that round up!
