Okay, Xzar is a specialist mage right? A necromancer...so they should start with 3 spell slots right? Well Xzar only has 2...why is this?

I thought regular mages only started with 1 spell slot and specialist mages started with 2. I could be wrong of course, but that's the way my regular mage/cleric started in IWD.(it's been so long since I played BG I couldn't tell ya how many spell slots mages get when starting)

I got rid of Xzar and Montaron in Beregost, coz if you've got Khalid and Jaheira as well, they turn on each other (fight i mean ;) ) In the barfight in Feldeposts.

[IMG] It could be that you are linking the idea that Xzar should have another spell per lvl with the fact that Edwin does. Both are in my party and Edwin has one extra spell per level and they are both level 4.
Sidenote: I also find it amusing that Edwin has twice as many hitpoints as Xzar right now. 20 to 10.

You don't have to be in a barfight for Xzar and Montaron to fight Kahlid. It can happen anywhere if they annoy each other enough

Edwin's special... He gets one extra 1st and 2nd level spell due to his amulet.

I don't think him being a red wizard has anything to do with it...
Bioware just wanted to make him even more attractive with that amulet, that's all. With it, he's the best mage in the game...

Hey Xzar's not bad, he's great in my party. Give him some throwing daggers when he has run out of spells and he'll do fine. I don't reccomend much melee combat with him though, unless he sneaks up on the action and casts color spray and goes after the unconscious enemies ;)
