[IMG] Ok, kiddies, let's get some decent music in here! :thumb:
I really hope that you lot aren't the "I listen to Manson and slit my wrists! Yeah!" people, 'cause I mean I see these kids walking round in black hoodies, doing all that stuff and going with the whole Anti-Jock/Townie thing. It's pathetic.

Before you start bashing me for that, let me just say that I've been into that whole thing myself (nearly). I was a big Cradle/KoRN fan. I went to see KoRn and Staind at the Family Values tour in '98. I was into that scene.

Soon though, I got out of it, and realised it's the music that puts you into a depressed mood and not the other way round. I could go on forever about this, no matter.

I kinda, woke up and realised how sad I was, and changed my whole attitude. Oh, those bands are ok, but the attitude that goes with it is pathetic. Each to his own eh?

    All-time Favourite Band, and Album:
    In no particular order
    • Transvision Vamp (Velveteen - 1989)
    • The Stranglers (Rattus Norvegicus IV - 1977)
    • Smashing Pumpkins (Gish - 1991)
    • Muse (Origin of Symmetry - 2001)
    • Jimmy Eat World (Static Prevails - 1996)
    • Placebo (Without You I'm Nothing - 1998)
Those are my swear-by favourites, if anyone's heard of Transvision Vamp (with Wendy James?) i'd be amazed.

Damn, I forgot about Muse..yep, they're great. And kids walkin around in black hoodies is pathetic. They have the nerve to call themselves hippies as well (can't see why though!)

Hooded kids - Woths. Translated as wannabe goths  Alot of them like Slipknot don't they? Pathetic little urchins. It really pisses me off to see ten year old kids wearing Nirvana stuff when they weren't even born when Kurt Cobain died!!

Gopher - Vermillion loves Transvision Vamp

its impossible to list the top 5 bands, therefor i will post my top 5 according to genre

    Metal:
Marilyn Manson(his zombierock stuff, long hard road out of hell, tourniquet stuff like that)
Nine Inch Nails(Anything released before -97)
Tool(Any song SHORTER then 7 mins)
    APC(James rules!)
Ministry(dark side of the spoon ^_^)

    Synth(EBM Industrial Goth):
Funker Vogt(Cant understand a word they're saying(screaming) but is good anyway)
    :wumpscut:(Ich Will Dich)
Cat Rapes Dog(the name itself makes them legendary)
    Apoptygma Berzerk(synthmusic with pop lyrics)
Welle Erdball(they have carusels on stage!)

    Pop:
    Placebo(Brian Molko!!!)
    Depecho Mode(synthpop)
    Doktor Kosmos(swedish political pop)
    S.P.O.C.K(spacepop)
    R.E.M(losing my religion!)

    Punk:
    Nirvana(Curt...)
    Sex pistols(anarchy in the UK)
    Ebba grön(swedens sex pistols)
    The Clash(sucker for english stuff)
Iggy and the Stooges(practicly invented punk)

Classical(all that other stuff just rots the mind)
    Bach(catholic but i forgive him)
    Mozart(genius)
    Grieg(Hall of the mountain king)
    Vivaldi(the four seasons)
    Wagner(Nietzsches buddy)

thats it for me, will probably post more :-P

Oh and as a small reply to gopher i am not one of those "I listen to Manson and slit my wrists! Yeah!" people, i listen to metal and i wear black clothes, i wear it because its beautiful and i am in no way depressed, I listen to manson because his music is extremely flexible, you can chill out to it, party your behind off to it and it can make you think

OK, let's clear a few things up.

People who listen to bands like Slipknot are not always leather jacket-wearing 'goths'. I am not a 'goth' just a normal guy who likes some good metal. If I'm frustrated or something like that, I can always go crazy and start headbanging on some good metal songs, that cheers me up. Wich doesn't mean I'm a 'freak' of some sort.
