Video game music

Does anyone listen to video/computer-game music for relaxation and enjoyment? I don't mean the crappy Super Mario "do-do-de-doo" stuff, of course, but there is some good music out there.

My absolute favorite is that from Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, an old game, but it also served as a CD with music and the game, so I listen to it pretty often now.

Yeah, Mech Mercs has some good music. Incomming had a few neat ones, and Tomb Raider 2 has some really good ones. Tomb3 had one, and Tomb4 has one. IwD had like 60 minutes of really good stuff. Other than that, I've got Ff7 aries, Zelda64, and the 'Vocal' to ff3 on the snes.

There's some games out there with music that rivals any movie/movement that has ever been made/composed...

[Edit] IwD had like 60 minutes of *REALLY* good stuff.

This might make me look like a psycho but 'tis true. I am a big fan of the Thief series, and after finishing Thief 2, (only ever play it in the dark), I would listen to the music or "play" it in my head. Whenever the opportunity arose, (ie. dark area/shadows) I would sneak along trying to remain undetected and leap out and hit unsuspecting peers over the head with my homemade (bent leather belt) black jack. I still do it whenever I get the urge to. It would make a satisfying "WHACK" sound-effect. Hehe..hehehe...he
Uh oh yeah I also love PS:T, BG series, IWD and Tenchu: Stealth Assassin music.

Like the games or hate 'em (personally I love 'em), you have to admit that the Final Fantasy music rocks!

I read Final Fantasy 7 fan fiction, and I have a habit of listening the One-winged Angel-theme. It ususally fits, seeing as I adore Sephy and mostly reqad about him :)
I also often listen to the music of BG2, as I am doing something when the game is on pause, like cooking, cleaning up, doing homework...

Some of the old final fantasy tunes are good for ambient music. Just don't listen to them too closely.

[IMG] I'm sorry I don't really listen to video game music for enjoyment actualy most of the time I turn off the games music even if I like it and I turn on my cd's or radio. Sometimes the music fits perfect for the game.

Every once in a blue moon I listen to Zelda: Ocarina of Time music. Kinda dumb, I admit.

The only video game music that I listen to and have as mp3s is the brilliant music from the entire Monkey Island series of games.
