Hi all, I got the following question:

I'm pretty addcited to Sympho-rock/metal and I heard here about Blind Guardian. I downloaded some numbers of the band and the music is very good. So I decided I gonna buy some cd's of Blind Guardian. My qestion, what 2 cd's do you recommend me to buy first?

Another question: I heard Hammerfall and Manowar are good as well, can you give me the titles of some good songs of this band? (so I can use Kazaa and get a preview of this bands) And what about savatage? What kinda music is that, is that already worth listening? Do you know more good bands like these? Thanks a lot already!

[IMG] About Blind Guardian you should definitely try 'Somewhere far beyond'. It's a great album loosely based on some works of their favourite authors (Tolkien :),Lovecraft :D etc.). Now another really great album is ' Nightfall in Middle Earth' a concept album completely based on Tolkien's 'Silmarillion'.
These would be my first two recommendations. You can also try 'Tales from the twilight world' but get the others first. Enjoy the ride...

Manowar - "King of Metal" is their best album. The song "The Crown and the Ring" from the album is the most popular. If U decide to buy a CD, start from this.
Savatage - my fav band, power metal.Best album according to the fans is "The Hall of the Mountain King".My fav is "Streets - Rock Opera". "Gutter Ballet" and "The Edge of Torns" are very good albums also.
If U want, call me at ICQ, will send U any song U want from them and Manowar.

Thank for the info both of you. Dragonsnake, I'll mail you my icq-number

  5. My favorite is Nightfall in Middle Earth. I ordered the Japanese version from Insound, it has a couple of remixes and comes with some cool Blind Guardian stickers.

Hammerfall is also awesome, I like all thier cds, but Legacy of Kings is my favorite. I like the songs At the End of the Rainbow and Destined for Glory

Blind Guardian ROCKS! I have all their albums and they have been my favourites for years!! Manowar rocks too, but not as much. I have four Manowar albums - Kings of Metal, Louder than Hell, The Triumph of Steel and Fighting the world. I listen to all Heavy/Power/Black/Death/Prog./Trash metal...

    Hail & Kill!!

I bought Nightfall in Middle-Earth and Batallions of Fear (they didn't have somewhere far beyond)

The Nightfall-cd is great, the lyrics are superb... I'm also now checking music of some other bands and will buy some more cd's soon. Thanks again!

[IMG] Listen to Melkior and you'll have a great time. You could also try Nevermore, Dark Tranquility, Nocturnal Rites, Helloween, Judas Priest, Emperor. Hope you can afford this 'cause after a while you'll want ALL of these ;).

Well actually I'm not a very big fan of Normal Metal, I'm listening much to sympho-metal for there's some more music in it I say. From the list I only listen to Iced Earth and Ayreon sometimes.....

Some of my favorits (to give yyou an idea where I listen to) are Rhapsody, Nightwish, Dream Theater, Guns 'n' Roses, Within Temptation etc.

  12. I like "fantasy" metal, normal metal, rock, indie rock (subcategories: mellow indie rock, catchy indie rock, and instrumental indie rock), punk, alternative, emo, folk, experimental music, techno, and some things I can't figure out how to describe.

If you wan to try a non-metal band that is dark and spooky, try the Black Heart Procession. Their song Waterfront(the sinking road) is one of the creepiest tunes I have ever heard. When I listen to it I always picture something similar to the headless horsemen, travelling down a scary road in the middle of the night, with nasty things waiting just beyond the trees....

Hi, yesterday started the "Rock Wave Festival" in Athens. Guests were Savatage (!), Megadeath and Judas Priest. Savatage were great! JP - awesome show! I'm sorry to say, that although I like Megadeath a lot, they were a little better from the last time I saw them, but still sound as a middle band.
there were 2 other bands - the name of the 1st I couldnt read (too gothic for my unexperienced eye - lol), the other forgot - that good a band.
Headbanger, I asked U for autorization, sorry one more time for the delay.
