    Along the lines of Arabwel's post, this one is just the opposite. What qualities do you like to see in people? What do you look for in your friends? That sort of thing.

    For me, I'd have to say honesty, persistence, kindness, maturity.

    distance, not only to the self but also to other things... Being passionate about something is fine, but you have to be able laugh about things.

    So, a sense of humour, combined with that rare talent of knowing when to be dead serious for a while too.

    A scence of humor, does not lie, does not talk behind your back, does not force you to do things you do not want to do, does not go against your word on things that are related to you, and is exciting. That's a good friend in my eyes.

    Dude, that's a good call.

    Anyways, I usually look for people who can see through what someone is saying, and figure out what someone actually means. Like when you've got a personality conflict, and it really just boils down to jealously. For what the heck ever reason.
    Or, someone is having a midlife crisis, and just needs a couple of beers and a house project to focus on.

    I'm not really sure I'd call it wisdom. Perhaps, experience?

    Patience (because I lack that), tolerance (as before) and sense of humour (no, not because) ... of course that's again just a brief overview since there are many, many more admirable qualities around ...

    Trust, honesty, humour, loyalty, listenable, caring, fun (in all its ways) etc.

    Thats just for a general overview. Pretty much all of my friends have one or two different qualities from the other ... close ones anyway.
