Crossbow bolt issues...

    what type? regular bolts? as they cant be identified.

    Get a temple to identify them. You'll need a high lore otherwise. Just identify them the same way as you get weapons and stuff identified.

    I had the same problem. I could only ID them using an ID scroll or the ID spell from a Mage in the party. This was just for the +2 bolts I think. Or maybe for the Bolts of Biting. In BG 1 I never had anyone with high enough lore to ID them. Why the NPC vendors and temples refused to ID them also, I dunno.

    Why? you don't have to identify them to be able to use them, unlike wands. If the picture looks like it's a bolt lightning, it wil be a bolt of lightning, there are no cursed bolts in the game. The only reason there is to HAVE to identify them is because you have no idea what the do from viewing the picture.

    I never bothered to ID arrows + bolts, since you can usually tell what they do when you fire them.
