While going through Bioware's web site, I noticed a list of barely or incompatible 3d chipsets and the like, and one listed was SIS boards. Well, I have a SIS motherboard with 64 megs of video memory, so that would explain why its not working. To make things worse, I can't disable the graphics adapter, else I go to 16 colors in Win2000, and my monitor won't power up when plugged into my 32 meg Geforce 2 MX 400 card. So, I don't suppose anyone has any thoughts? I just got this comp, I can't get a new one.... :(

I dont get it why doesnt GF2MX400 take over once the motherboard graphic adapter is disabled.

If i were you i would install another OS (WinXP,...) And try there if you really want to play this game.

I had to do that with one game i wanted to play.

Sure the on-board card can't be disabled in BIOS?

[IMG] i have a sis motherboard also, and while i can play the game i have to have the graffics set to minimum (i.e. fast) and even then the animatin is really jumpy because the system has to frame limit. also the program frezes and has to be shut down ALOT!
two questions, 1. is there any fix that will help the game run better for now. and 2. i plan on getting a new system and would buy one just because its good for NWN (a game thats super dope despite the bugs), so what type of system runs neverwinter the best?

CAn you give me the link for the Bioware site where they detail incompatible chipsets etc?

I have just been browsing the site. Can't find such a page but would really like to read it.

Am about to upgrade my computer. It'd be nice know in advance what I shouldn't be buying.

I got a sis board, but the game seem to run fine ever since I got the radeon 9000, however during some times when I am going from level to level the mod fails to load or an illegal operation happens. What is wrong? Is it the mod or something else?

[IMG] I have an SIS motherboard as well, but I added a GEForce4 MX and a Sound Blaster to it because the onboard components are terrible, and crash with ridiculous frequency. To get a new video card to run, however, you must run your BIOS setup utility (usually by holding the Delete key when your computer is booting up.) If you have the same BIOS as I do, which seems very likely, once you have the setup running, you need to go to the PCI/Plug and Play setup screen and set Primary Graphics Adapter to AGP (if that's where your video card is plugged in.) If you have a PCI video card, it should take over automatically.
