    My henchmen seem to think i pay them to travel with me, or cast spells, heal and fight for me or something. Well, with the exception of Tomi - i don't. I pay them to talk.

    During the first chapter, i was still getting used to the game, so i ended up hearing only the girls' stories {gave them the chalice and the elixir, respectively, both of which i found long before they silled it}, which is a bummer, cause i found a thingie that should obviously belong to Daelan {it says it's of uthgardt design, and i haven't seen another uthgardt tribesman in the game, so naturally...} and some things that should likely go to the other henchmen too. Problem is i can't give them those things untill they finish theyr stories, so...

    Anyway, in the second chapter, i'm trying to make up for this, and hear everyone's stories as soon as possible. Trouble is they seem vry reluctant to go beyong the first part of theyr stories in the 2nd chapter. In chapter 1, one level seemed to be enough to make a progress with each henchman's tale; but now, i get three levels, and still no one tells me theyr next episode!
    And by "no one" i mean "none of the henchmen". Aribeth gave her second part after two levels, and the spymaster, sho's supposed to be secretive by trade, actually proved the most talkative, giving away an episode for each level gained, as if he was a henchman in chapter 1, heh.
    So, how many levels should it take before the henchmen start talking again?

    I think only the henchmen which you helped in the first chapter will continue telling you their stories. So Linu and Sharwyn should cooperate, but the others wont.

    Now they each gave me the second piece of theyr stories, and the journal now says they'll only continue if they consider me a friend... so from your answer and that, i suppose the final part will only be told by those with whom i bonded?
    A crying shame, considering i already have two items that are obviously meant for Tomi and Boddyknock {the Star of Calimshan and the crystal seeds}.
    Is there anything one can do with quest items that couldn't be used?
    Is there a cheat to "befriend" all henchmen retrospectively?

    You could probably spawnitem in the items that they would have given you in return for finishing their quest in the first chapter (belts, rings, amulets, whatever)- they consider you a "friend" by whether or not you kept "their" item in your inventory.

    Otherwise, those quest items are going to be useless to you.

    @ Tressym

    You have to be 6th level to get "the whole story" from each henchman in Chapter 1, and 10th level for Ch2.

    And yes, if you don't help them in Ch1, you're out of luck.

    [IMG] Tressym, I just happened to be looking up the item spawn codes for something lse while browsing through this message board so I figured Id look up how to create the henchmen items from you from chapter 1...

    (just in case you dont know this part)
    1)hit the "~" key
    2)Type (case sensitive) "DebugMode 1" then hit enter
    3)Type the following command/code for whichever item you want

    Amulet of the Red Tiger Tribe (Daelan's Item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_dae1rw"

    Belt of the Performer (Sharwyn's Item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_sha1rw"

    Amulet of the Long Death (Grimgnaw's item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_gri1rw"

    Lantanese Ring (Boddyknock's Item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_bod1rw"

    Pendant of the Elf (Linu's Item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_lin1rw"

    Ring of the Rogue (Tomi's Item)
    "dm_spawnitem nw_hen_gal1rw"

    I think thats all of them ;) Of course remember to leave out the qoute marks and when you are done and have all the items you wanted, don't for get to type "`" and then "DebugMode 0" to turn the debuging mode back off

    Hope this helped,
    Dave

    Thancue for the codes!

    I spawned the 4 items i was missing, but when i tried milking my henchemen for the ends of theyr stories, the option still wasn't there. :={
    Is there anything else i can try, or am i doomed to never lift this distance from my friendship with Daelan, Tomi, Bodyknock and that SICK dude?

    I only recently bought this game and have only got to chapter 2 so far,(and actually Im replaying chapter 1 right now since I decided I wanted to be a paladin instead of a bard lol) but so far I think the way it works is you have to befriend them in chapter 1. You befriend/advance thier stories by talking to them several times. Your character has to be level 5 (I think) or higher in order to persuade them to tell you thier whole story and in order for you to get the quest from them. I myself am not sure what happens if you start chapter two without having befriended them. I am not sure if it's possible to befriend them if you havnt in chap. 1

    The best way I think to avoid this whole problem is at the end of chapter one, right before you give aribeth the last of the four items needed for the cure, run over to the trade of blades first, and go to each merc and hire/rehire them temporarly, just to talk to them and make sure that you have heard thier entire stories and quest, and that you completed it and recieved the reward from them. For example in my game, I didn't use the monk guy at all. But at the end of chapter one, I recruited him for a few seconds, then talked to him to get his story and quest (since I was already past level 5 by that time, I was able to get the full story at that time) and I already had the item he was looking for, gave it to him, got his reward, then I released him and rehired whoever I wanted.

    Actually, I think the presence of the items is checked at the start of the module. So spawning them while you're already busy with it (and their stories) will do you no good. You could always just spawn the items they would give you in this chapter and start the next with them in your inventory, then you could do that part. Or else, just restart the game, it's not that long/hard ;) .

    Thanks, Meatdog!
    {makes me think of Dogmeat form Fallout 1}
    So, to spawn the advanced items, do i type the same things, only with 2rw instead of 1rw in the end?

    Tressym - Yup, to get the upgraded items you just change the number for example the codes for the Amulet of the Red Tiger Tribe are:

    nw_hen_dae1rw for the first one
    " "2rw for the 2nd one...
    " "3rw for the 3rd one...

    and so on...the difrent items have a diffrent number of how many variations there are (I think) like some have 3 versions while others have 4.

    Well, you might as well just spawn the latest items if that's why you want to do the sidequests.

    :yot: That's indeed the origin of my nick.

    Nah, i want theyr stories mainly for the roleplaying expereince. I don't really have much use for the items themselves, other than Sharwyn's.

    *gives Meatdog some iguana-on-a-stick*

    So, Timtor {or anyone else who knows}, what's the level i need to get the stories in the 3rd chapter? Can't wait to see if Dogmeat's idea works... :=}
