thieving?

    Is it possible to steal from a shop keeper then sell the stolen goods back to them?

    When I tried it earlier I could not sell the gem I stole back, and not just that, it wouldn't let me sell any of my other items until I dropped the stolen gem.

    No can do, the stolen item is flagged. You can only actually wear it but you can't sell anywhere in the BGWorld.

    You can't? I have pickpocketed a lot of people in BG and there had to be a merchant I have picked... I can't remember though so you are probably right :D

    Pickpocketing isn't the same as stealing. You can pickpockect someone and sell the item okay - I do this all the time.
