A newbie's stupid questions...

    I have just aquired NWN, allthough I have played a few times at my cousin, and have read the manual exstensively (I wanted to anihilate all those sub-concious presumptions that NWN is like BG), so I think I have a grasp of the basics.

    However, I still have some questions:

    1) Alignment: Since it's my first time I want to be a good guy (well, girl actually), but I'm a little worried that if I'm TOO good my alignment might turn lawful, stopping level-advancing for both druid and barbarian. How much does it take for your alignment to change?

    2) Patch: I've downloaded the official patch (v1.30) but I can't read the crucial file; it shows the unknown file-type icon, does anyone know which program to open .rtp files with?

    I've also encountered a few bugs; the blacksmith won't make my items, but that's a minor problem, the worst is the missing intellect devourer. I've done a search and discovered I'm not the only one with these problems, and I hope the patch will fix them.

    Oh, and I did try the update function, it didn't work - well first (I think) it downloaded and installed something (size around 750 kb) - no problem. But then it started to download a much larger file (over 31 Mb!), and I had to cancel it as I don't have broadband so it'd take several hours, not to mention daddy would rip my head off.

    Any help would be very appreciated, and please forgive the spelling- and grammatical errors, which I'm sure I've made; I'm just the resident non-native teenager!

    Well, I was very good with my neutral-good cleric, and I didn't get lawful, so I don't think that you will get lawful if you do a lot good stuff.

    The update function was doing the right thing. If you want to update to the latest version via the internet, you will have to get such a large file. The first 750Kb file was just an update to the updater itself.

    You could go and purchase Shadows of Undrentide though, and it will bring your game up to 1.30.

    Thanks both of you... I guess I'll have to buy Shadows of Undrentide then, is it good?

    But does anyone know what to do with the patch I have on my computer? It was a rather large download too; 10-15 Mb, and I think I downloaded it from SP... I'm not entirely sure though.

    [​IMG] Well.. for the problem with the interlect devourer there are a few websites that give you a clue how to fix that problem.. so just have a look for walkthroughs and it will be amongst the cheats ... but i just restarted when i encountered that problem ... but that was just me..
