No, I'm not talking about the band :)

I'm trying to play a two weapon character in the OC, but it is driving me crazy that it is so dark. Therefore I'm reduced to holding a torch in one hand. Is there anyway to get my henchman to carry the light? I think I read as an in-game hint to cast continual light on a weapon. That would be great if I had a mage.

Is there a trick to getting some light around here?

This is another of my small gripes with this game. Add this to the things to fix in version 2.

There's a ton of different equipment that shed light, try finding a ring of cyan at a magic shop, I know there's shields and helmets that also give off light.

If you want to dual wield and choose a human, you have to go with the downsides too. You could always have chosen an elf or half orc, they get dark vision.

Barring that you could take a couple levels of Shadowdancer, which will grant you a dark vision feat.

That's strange because in the more darker areas of the game i've witnessed that henchmen will pull out a torch to light the road. You can also manually equip it in his/her hand (if he's welding single-melee), but you probably know that. Now i've added so many things onto my original game that i don't know if it's like that normally or that way due to some tweaks i've downloaded over time. Like the other guy said there is tons o' items like rings and gems to help cast some light on your journey along the way.

If you have a spellcasting PC, cast Continuis (sp?) Light on an item, and it should remain glowing with a 20ft radius.

Actually, you can't manually equip anything in your henchman's inventory in the OC; that's a feature that only becomes available in the expansions.

Like ArtE said; you might try looking for a ring of cyan, crimson or jade (giving off blue, red or green light, respectively). There are many more items that give off light; but these types of rings are the most common.

As for the darkvisions of half-orcs and dwarves; and the "improved" vision of elves, halflings and gnomes...I think it's all a load of crap. I've played with dwarves and elves and regardless of that fact, I find that unless I have an item that gives off light, I still need to equip a torch in dark areas to be able to see *anything*.
