O.k. I was doing that quest for the 'wind of the wise' book or whatever and ended up inside a romantic fable(sort of D&D harlequin I guess). I was too late to save some girl(Jena? Something like that) and had to fight what seemed like an impossible battle with a Devil. I tried everything I could think of to no avail and so finally just decided to whack on him until he killed me.

Suddenly I score a single critical hit with my Netherese axe(which had been *ineffective* throughout and kill him in that one blow.

"Cool!" I say to myself, not having any idea why that happened and proceed toward the next chapter.
But as I approach that merchant Asabi salve-master guy I notice that I am *cursed*. So I try everything from restoration scrolls to lesser restore potions to resting...nothing works. The curse is still there and now my half-orc barb' has 16 Str. and decreased attributes all around.

Anyone know, first of all, why I was able to beat that devil and second of all how do I get rid of the *curse*?

Any other advice would be welcome too.

    1) The Devil is really hard to beat but you get a really measly amount of XP from him. He has huge damage reduction and regenerating so it is pointless trying to get a lot of little hits on him. But one or two big critical hits will floor him. An axe does x3, so that will do the trick.

    2) Have you tried a 'remove curse' spell?

    3) Any other advice? Um, eat healthily and be nice to people.

Have not tried a 'Remove Curse' spell. Does that merchant dude sell it?
