    [IMG] Hi there to everyone, I'm currently playing ID1 with the HoW and Trials expansions installed... The big problem is that when I try to reach the entry from Wyrm's Tooth to Chapter 6, the game crashes... It's very frustating..Note that although i'm playing it on XP, I tried the 98 compatibility mode but in vain. So, I guess the bug won't be solved (not so many people still playing the game) and I want to kindly ask everyone if they could provide me with a savegame, from the Very start of Ch 6, right after the intro <video>... I'd be grateful..Thanx :)

    I had the same problem. You've probably a corrupt CD. Get the patch from SP, then it should work.

    Emperor13;

    I'm having the exact same problem! I'm re-playing IWD in order to experience HoW and TotL. Running on XP/SP2, and already have all patches (through 1.42, TotL) installed.

    Even un/re-installed trying to fix.

    Game crashes to the desktop (with a black square covering ~1/4) when I attempt to go through the entrance from Wyrm's Tooth / Chapter 5 to Lower Dorn's Deep / Chapter 6.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    </Thandal>

    Just a minor work around, no real fix revolation or anything, but you can try skipping the problem area altogether and moving on to the next area via the cheat consol. Type in
    GETYOURCHEATON:MoveToArea("[location number]")

    To find some area codes, just look around for guides that list it. I found mine on Gamefaqs (was living up System Shock 2 memories at the time) but I am sure there are some here.

    Edit:
    To save you the hassle of looking up some numbers, you may also want to try from AR7000 to AR7005 (perhaps beyond this).

    kmonster;

    Already have the "UK Patch", but when I tried it, I wound up with a partially unusable installation of the game. That's what prompted the total uninstall / reinstall. Not sure if there was something different I could/should have done, like:

    1) Base install.
    2) UK Patch install
    3) HoW install
    4) TotL install

    If anyone has ideas, I'd love to hear them.

    Thanks again,

    </Thandal>

    I remember people posting about a critical bug with ToTL, but I'm not sure if that was it. It was quite some time ago, so you'll have to do some digging to find it.

    All I distinctly remember from it was to never install ToTL until HoW, because there was a serious bug with it in the original game. It might be at that exact point.

    Thanks to (and my apologies for doubting) those who pointed me twowards the UK patch for this bug. I realized thst I had probably mis-applied it on my first attempt (multiple hard drives, IWD not installed in the "default" location, etc.) and gave it another try.

    Success! Am now able to correctly begin Chapter 6 (Lower Dorn's Deep) from the Wyrm's Tooth Glacier. The fact that I've got to re-visit The Sea of Moving Ice (and re-defeat Icasaracht) is minor compared to the frustration I felt at not being able to complete the original OC.

    Thank you again, and don't forget to tip the staff!
