I was trolling through the Warren (past the junk portal, off Ratpicker Square in Sigil) when I noticed this the first time. It coulda happened sooner and I missed it, though that's unlikely.

I opened the crate after killing the first batch of Cranium Rats in the room through the rat tail portal, and some weird green-yellow puff of smoke sprung up when I opened it. I missed the text at the time, but I've noticed since then that my to-hit is like -3 from what it should be.

    - I took everything off, no change.
    - I swapped weapons, taking into account proficiencies, no change
    - I've rested many times
    - I went to Mebbeth, had her remove curse, without the cursed ring on, no change
    - Stats page shows no changes

I can't SWEAR that's when it happened. AFAIK, that's when it happened, because it was shortly thereafter that I noticed it. I have no 'old' saves to revert to before this happened (I didn't know it happened until it was already too late). Initially I assumed it was some temporary thing that would wear off through time, rest or RC, but nothing has changed.

I'm stumped, and I dunno how to search such a question on Google. I've gone about as far as I can without addressing it, but things are getting tougher now. Any help would be appreciated.

    TIA.

You mean your THAC0 has decreased by 3 or has it increased by 3? If it's decreaded by 3 I don't see what you're complaining about ;)

However I have never encoutered that status changing. Perhaps your next level up will fix it?

Nope, I've levelled up in all 3 classes since then. And it persists for each class.

One of the rats probably hit you with Ice Knife. That spell can cause this bug. Killing the affected party member (and then resurrecting them if not TNO) should fix it.

Yeah, I let myself die a couple times, and when I booted up yesterday it was fine. *shrug*

Dunno if dying helped, or something I did. Guess it'll remain a mystery.

    No. It was the dying.
