Is it weird that I find wandering around BG1 to be kind of my safezone when I'm stressed out or bothered by something? It always relaxes me knowing I can wander around tha t gane, even if my arse is being headed to me from the getgo. Just standing on the coastline on the map just outside Candlekeep, hearing the sea and watching the birds is relaxing (after you send that suicidal fool on his way).

Games like BG with the ambivalent sounds and beautiful scenery (for 1999) were not technologically possible when I was a child (at least the graphics, the sound was somewhat doable, if barely as seen in Dungeon Master. A 500K sound file was HUGE and took up more than half a 3.5" DSDD diskette back then. Same for a 100K graphic, that was large and took up a significant fraction of an 800K (Apple IIGS/Macintosh) or 720K (MS-DOS) diskette. ) but I used RPGs like Bard's Tale, Final Fantasy Legend, Gold Box Games, Might and Magic, etc, to relax and destress since I discovered them when I was eleven.

Destressing with video games is perfectly normal.

Nice choice Slickster, haven't heard that song in 20 years possibly. I would have gone with this one on first thought.
