Thinking about trying another BG2 run and wondered what mods you guys would recomend. Normally play a pally but want something different this time. Which party members do you guys like?

Hmm... I don't really know about mods since I don't normally use them. About the party members, why not try creating a evil playthrough along with all the evil characters in the game such as Korgan, Edwin and Viconia... I always wanna try it whenever I got the chance since I mostly play the game as a paladin!

There are some decent mods being released to this day. I can't go without Deities of Fareun anymore, which brings the cleric class closer to its PnP counterpart, with clerics being very different depending on the god. Cleric of Tyr/Mage is potentially very powerful. Many of the benefits of fighter levels with no actual fighter levels, including apr.

There are a ton of BG2 mods.... some have been combined. My must haves are below.

    Tweaks Anthology
    SCS
    Alternatives
    Assassinations
    Song & Silence
    Faiths & Powers
    Time & Blood
    Eldritch Magic

Partywise - there are Tons of NPC mods if you are bored with the originals. The Foundling, Will of the Wisp and the Undying are good mods. So are Kelsey, Keto and All Things Mazzy.

Don't know nothing about mods. You should try out Valygar and Edwin in a party. They seem like an interesting combination.

Play a Jester and follow the party you choose instead of being a leader. I started out playing a Paladin but through the years it's fun to sit back and watch instead of controlling the situation

I've also wondered about this. I personally never used mods, because the game is almost perfect already. Not interested in alternative classes or kits or abilities or spells. Just more story content. But I learned that is sparse.

Recently I've tried the Imoen romance mod and it's fine, but it wasn't for me and I uninstalled it before the end.

Eh, that's arguable. Even if you don't want any rebalance/kit/spell mod, I would at least recommend that you install the Tweak Anthology, as some of its features make the game much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't say that is sparse at all. From the obvious choices, you have Ascension, Wheels of Prophecy, Unfinished Business, and Quest Pack, which have been around for ages. Then there's some huge ones, like Shadows Over Soubar or Check the Bodies. And some more jokey ones like the G3 Anniversary Mod. Beyond that, you have modders that almost exclusively pump out content mods, such as Weasel. As well as about 10 godzillion NPC mods from various authors if you do some forum crawling.

I second the Tweaks Anthology, a lot of them just save you frustration like the item stacking mods.
I also have to recommend Ding0's Tweaks as well, available here:
    https://www.pocketplane.net/house-of-sim/
They aren't as vital as the anthology, but still fun tweaks.

I did always play with UB installed (except now :p), but I saw it more as a fix pack than new content. The new story mods also don't appear in the compatibility list for BG2:EE

The Weasel mods seem amazing. I've never even heard of those, and I consider myself a BG2-fan. :p

Ended up installing the Tweak Anthology, though it took ages.

What was the problem? I had no issue at all installing Tweaks Anthology on the version of EE given away by Amazon last summer.

I don't think he had any issues, it just took forever. It has a million components in it. :shake:

True enough, I think I left at least half of them uninstalled.
