Maybe it helps the burden a little to write it out. I just changed my mind about writing this post.

I hope it has helped and that you, or any other person you were writing about, can get to a happier place. Please seek help, this is not a journey to go alone.

@T2Bruno Thanks for the kind words. I'm at a pretty stressful time in my life and each day is a struggle. I made this thread because I was so stressed out that I was near bursting and I guess it was good to write it down. I'm not the type to share that kind of stuff usually. I'd rather make a witty comment, or just smile and let people go on thinking I have it all together.

Well I suppose everyone in life has their own cross to bear... If you're suffering a severe or critical depression of sorts. Like @T2Bruno said its much more appropriate to seek professional assistance...

Hmm... I went into something to similar that I even contemplate suicide at some point of my life. Sometimes it still somehow gnaws at the back of my mind, but I found a way to silence it at least.

Umm... if you don't want professional help, instead you like to "help yourself" as that's what I exactly did and IT WORKS! Since medical attention in third world countries are damn outright expensive especially clinical psychology help in where I reside and I didn't admire the idea of being beaten by my own mind lol. :(

I may be able to suggest a couple of things in how to handle depression.

Read Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl. Its a book about a Jewish Psychiatrist that survived World War 2 and The Holocaust, the guy loss his father, mother, sister, and even her wife. It's a enlightening read, the book itself will teach you how to cope with depression and the author has he's own meaning of what depression really is. You'll also learn not to take life for granted in general.

Do some heavy exercise like jogging with weights under the heat of the sun if your active enough. The best reference for workout or fitness for me is Solitary Fitness. In addition this book has interesting ways for exercising as well!

Another thing that I did is play Visual Novels/Eroges. This option only applies if you like reading and anime in general. Visual Novels/Eroges are Japanese interactive dating simulator games focus mostly on romance and slice of life kind of stuff. I recommend not playing games that is competitive in natural during depression as they only worsen your condition instead of alleviating it since it generates adversarial or negative feelings. More like hatred I suppose as your involved with killing opponents in video games.

Visual Novels/Eroges are the opposite as their more like lovey-dovey games design to make you feel good about yourself. If you have more questions about Visual Novels/Eroges. Just ask me away and I might be able to recommend something that suits your taste! Only if you're interested! :D

Others are audiobooks focusing on personality programing that's pretty popular in the past like the 1960s or something I forgot which year lol . All I can say is that they're retro and it does work if you follow the instruction. They're somehow hard to come by legally nowadays since they're out of print and you may need to resort to torrents. You're at least familiar with Earl Nightingale right? just tell me if your interested in this option?

Some also includes practicing the occult and asking help from the dark ones for salvation. however not everyone has the aptitude for it so we're going to skip on that one :D

Anyways that's the stuff I tried and it work somehow. Its not a surefire solution at least its something I come up with myself.

Take care and hope you'll find whatever it is that you seek in this life.

I don't admire the idea of being beaten by my own mind either. "Seek professional help.", is a whitewash statement and I think usually professionals really don't care about the person they're helping anyway. What's the point? I'm already good at rewiring my brain finding a way through because I've already been through a few hard situations in my life. I guess I'm just really feeling the pressure right now.

I do play a competitive game for distraction. Pinball on the PS4. I'm really good at it and it helps me escape for a bit. It doesn't really make me angry when I'm not always top scores in matches, although I get my share of wins.

I think self help books are great, I've probably read a few over the years. I watch a variety of stuff on youtube often in the late evenings and I try to include inspirational and beneficial material to rewire my brain.

Asking the dark ones for salvation is never a good idea and I don't recommend it. When I was in my 20's I was pretty fascinated by the occult but my understanding of the world has changed since then. If anything, I will only deal with spirits of the light.

Your advice and suggestions are sweet and thoughtful and thank you for taking the time to write it out, even though you don't know me. I appreciate that.

Dice; I've been seeing professional therapists for almost 2 decades. Honestly I used to think like you do; I didn't trust them because I was convinced everybody was only out for themselves. But I reached a point where it was either get outside help; or just melt down and end up locked up in a psych ward. I chose the former. I can't swear that it helped but it did keep me from the total meltdown. And I've found that many therapists actually do care about their patients. After all the career with the highest rate of suicides is psychotherapy and there has to be a reason for that. Namely that the burden they carry of knowing all the crap we've been through and doing everything they can to help is mind-breaking and soul-crushing.

I know from the people I talk to that this whole Covid19 thing is being especially hard on everybody. Humans are not meant to be kept isolated from each other for extended periods. I can't imagine what it was like for that Russian Cosmonaut that was trapped on Mir for ten years. I'd have taken a sledge to a window and let myself get sucked out into space through a pin-hole long before ten years passed.

What-ever you decide I hope you can find yourself in a better place.

Hey Wicky - P, I've done some therapy a few years ago and I'm good, not to, at the moment. I'm not saying that it isn't important and valuable, it's just not for me.

I'm lucky to have a large family connection so I don't feel too isolated.

Good; I'm glad you've got emotional support. I'm glad you've got family that are understanding. It's important to have somebody to talk to that listens. Even if you don't know if they really care. I've been through hell so I can empathize with others who feel that things aren't going right.

This is such an important topic. Long time members will know that a few years ago we lost one of this community to depression. Please know that you're never alone, and that many of us have been through similar things. Professional help can help, if you find the right professional. I have at last found a good counsellor who is really good at helping me get perspective on things going on in my life. If you ever want to chat, please let me know. Take care man.

Thanks HB. I actually was in a bad place a few weeks ago and that doesn't happen often to me, but I have the instinct to recognise and fight it and I'm in a much better place mentally right now. I'd never take the path that Kit took because I have two sons and a huge family that I would never want to hurt. I reached out to a few people and I sent a group email to 4 sisters and a brother to tell them I wasn't doing that great, and they each were supportive in their way. Normally I wouldn't reach out, but I did, and it was a healthy move on my part. Thanks for the concern @Harbourboy :).
