    Thanks Again!

    Question remains:

What do you think are the most potent low level spells for my cleric/Mage?

Is there some mod like tactics for bg1ee?
I would enjoy some more difficult but not unfair combats in my game...

Edit: What is the highest number of attacks with all possible buffs that a M/C can get?

You should be able to get high enough mage levels to cast improved haste on yourself, so yeah
For added fun give your multiclass a cleric kit like helm or lathander using EEkeeper, both get abilities that improve their # of attacks. :shake:

You're stuck with 2 attacks per round (through dual-wielding) in BG:EE. Not something I would recommend, TBH. Haste gives you +1 attack per round while active.
    A mage/cleric is a lot better off using a sling/one-hand weapon and shield/a staff.
In BG2 Melf's Minute Meteors gives you 5. You get Improved Haste by that point, which raises your dual-wielding number of attacks to 4.
In ToB Energy Blades gives you 9.

if you edited her with EEkeeper, don't forget to actually add the class abilities.
you can do this on the "effects" tab. press the button add kit effects, and select the class you want to add the effects from.

in this case, beserker - also add the level range from which abilities should be added - just set the "to level" to the same amount of levels in the beserker class she has.

press OK and all effects should now apply. you might have to rest ingame for the ability to show up.

my mistake, i left a part out . You need to do this not only on the effects tab, but also on the "innate" tab as well - same thing, click the kit button, select the kit and up to which level to add innate abilities.
This should add enrage to the NPC's abilities in the case of beserker.

Where or when do the harder quests and the expansion areas start?
Which level should I be when I start them?

You can go to ulgoth's beard right away if you want to, though you cannot get to the isle of balduran untill you gain entry to baldur's gate itsself.
you can start the durlag's tower right away, though i wouldn't suggest it because it's tough to finish :p

personally i wait till i've at least gained entry to baldur's gate before even starting with ulgoth's beard - usually after i've returned to candlekeep and have completed everything except actually finding sarevok in the undercity.

you'll want an as powerful as possible party before tackling durlag's tower and the isle of balduran.
one thing to keep in mind that one monster you will find on the isle of balduran can only be hit by 4 weapons, 2 of which you will find on the same level it inhabits.
the other 2 weapons are : Bastard Sword +1, +3 against shapeshifters - you can get this in baldur's gate but only if you've helped aldeth in the cloakwood and Flametongue +1, which can be found in durlag's tower.
so if you find those 2, keep them and bring them along to balduran's isle.

Which do you think are the best(semi)fighters to bring along?

I now have a party of C/M ,Imoen(will be mage) and Ajantis.

I want to add 1 character more who can fight.
But Minsc is out because he doesnt want to talk to me...

Is stere a shop soon where I can buy good magical items?

    ---------- Added 2 hours, 45 minutes and 58 seconds later... ----------

Where can I buy some advanced spell scrolls?

Where is ulgoths beard on the worldmap?

    ---------- Added 3 hours, 25 minutes and 50 seconds later... ----------

Do you think Coran or Yeslick is the better semi-fighter?

    ---------- Added 3 hours, 1 minutes and 7 seconds later... ----------

found ulgoths beard but how do I get there?

adding in 1 single companion fighter is a tough call. the only other good alignment one available is khalid - but he comes with jaheira.

You might want to take Kivan - he's a ranger just like minsc - but he doesn't get minsc's rage.
Hes more focused on ranged attacking, he has 2 points in bows when you get him, and his elf race gives him even more of a bonus.
That said, he has pretty high strength and dexterity, so if you want you can stick some heavy armor him and hand him a sword as well. depending on how soon you pick him up he might even already have 2 pips in great swords. (from lvl 4 and up, so if you want him to have proficiency in another type of weapon pick him up ASAP and level him yourself.)

You can buy magical items and scrolls at high hedge, west of beregost.
inside the building on this map you'll find thalantyr - be sure to go to and speak to him right when you enter, if you wait around too long without talking to him his flesh golems might attack you.
Also always be civil with him - again, because of his flesh golems. :p
There's also sorcerous sundries for your scroll needs in E baldur's gate though obviously it'll be a while before you can shop there.

Yeslick is probably better then Coran if you give him the gauntlets of dexterity.
Coran has absurdly high dex, so he's probably the best archer in the game.
I'd still take Kivan though, since he has a good score in both strength and dex, and you can get him straight away after leaving candlekeep - you won't get either Coran or Yeslick until you are able to enter the cloakwood (mines).

Go to the area with the bridge to the entry of baldurs gate but don't cross the bridge. all the way to the top you can click on the edge of the map (behind tenya's house) and move to the Farmlands area.
Once there, there's 1 quest you can complete (clear out 20 zombies for the farmer) going to the north or east edges of the map and leaving the area will display ulgoth's beard on your map.

start down here, star is area change to ulgoth's beard. ^^^
