    DMC,

    Public or Private school? Some of things the wife and I were looking at when weighing where to send our kids to school were factors of what type of schools have the highest percentage of sick absentees, lice outbreaks, etc... The public schools(in IL) had much higher % all across the board.

    Blades - public. Not spending $30K in after-tax dollars per kid per year per school for no blankety-blank private school.

    I would include Catholic Schools, etc.. as private. Not jsut the high-end private schools. They are incredible pricey. Some areas give tax breaks to those who have kids in such schools. We choose Catholic schools, though I am definitely NOT a believer. But the Public schools here are horrendous and we would of had to ship our kids to a bad neighborhood. A neighborhood that when I was carrying mail for a living, gun shots were a regular occurence. We will pay about 8K this year. About 9.5K when my 2nd child hits Kindergarten next year. It's actually cheaper than daycare...

    Kids are kids. Unless you're going to ban them from playing with kids who may have head lice, they're going to get them. It's not like they're harmful. Just let 'em be kids!

    Blades - Catholic school is not really an option in my household. I'm personally an atheist, but I was raised Jewish and my wife is Jewish and my parents would have a cow if I sent my kids to Catholic school.

    They're kids. It's what they do best.

    We have some parents at school who are obsessed, if they think that a kid may have lice then they won't let their kids go near them. It's ridiculous, it's just an excuse for bullying

    I was on a business trip. What is it with towers when I go to Baltimore? Lightning hit the BWI control tower and most flights were canceled. I had to stay an extra day ... this time the delay wasn't so bad and I got the chance to go to the "oldest bar in the US" to drink JD.

    I've got a job!

    Last Friday I applied for a job at a bureau/agency that's (in)famous for its blue envelopes: the Dutch revenue service. I was invited to have a chat today and I start Wednesday! All of a sudden, things go real fast.

    This means I have to get drunk tonight, because I have but one day left for nursing a hangover.

    I'm gonna be a male light-blue-collar worker amidst what seems to be a female white-collar-worker's building. I haven't seen a single man inside, only femmes, but that might change the day after tomorrow.

    Anyway, I'm happy! (And seemingly it shows. Lots of nice ladies smiling at me today. :) )
