Scotch is spelled Whisky, while Irish is spelled Whiskey. These are the only two nationalities in the world that produce Whisk(e)y, though other countries turn out products under the same name. ;)

Uni starts on Tuesday September 3rd -- about bloody time if you ask me. I've gone insane from the boredom of doing nothing all summer long. I had hoped for a part time job, but apparently the universe thinks this is too much to ask. Anyway, only four terms left and I'm done with school. Yay ? Two years is kinda long...

@ MuN; this happens to me all the time, suddenly I'll realize I'm bleeding without noticing how I managed to cut myself. It's somewhat of a running gag with me really.

My employers looked down from their ivory tower and watched us toil. At least some of us.

Why do they only work in the morning and afternoon while other companies have people slaving around during the evening and night. We want that too!

So, one of them came with the idea of keeping a skeleton crew in the warehouse in the mornings and early afternoon to collect all orders from our clients to handle them in the late afternoon with lots of people and to ship them in the evening hours. Eight hours of work from 9 to 6 pushed into 4 hours from 6 to 10 pm.

I work in a large car part warehouse for Toyota, Yokohama and Suzuki. Our custumors close at 6pm. the workshops who do the ordering for parts even earlier, around 4pm

The management says that this is a 24/7 economy. If you can shop at a Internet store like Amazon until 22:30 pm and still gets delivery the next day, why not us?

Well, a car door does not fit into a mailbox. Distribution of car parts is at night.

    ---------- Added 9 hours, 0 minutes and 55 seconds later... ----------

    Sale! Steam 75% Witcher franchise.

Yeah plus GOG is drm-free, always a plus in my book. I like Steam, but I don't like drm, so whenever a game is available on both I always go to GOG. Not that I'm paranoid about drm or that I'll refrain from playing a game because of it.

You know what bothers me ? Most ordinary cups sold here. I don't know if my hands are unnaturally big or if they deliberately make cups small but I can't never put all four finger inside the handle, my pinky is always left out. Like an asthmatic kid left on the field while all the cool kids go play hockey or whatever it is kids do today. It's annoying. I wonder if I could order a custom cup from a manufacturer to would fit my hand ?

In regular coffee cups, I can only put 2 fingers in the handle, so my pink doesn't feel really left out. It's the mugs that bothers him/her.../it.

Yeah welll, I don't want to be properly posh, even for tea :p -- I want all my four fingers to fit in the goddamn handle.

Hang on, are you saying there's a difference between a mug and a cup ? Since when ?

Since the introduction of the words. Mugs are cylindrical and cups are bowl shaped.

Well then I meant mug, I hate mugs that you can only fit two or three fingers in it.

Dito. I only shop for extra large ones. A cup, or mug, of tea is still one cup or mug. And only count as one even if 500 ml fits inside.

Why? With tea you need cookies, the more tea....

    No milk allowed.

So I just finished alphabetizing* my CDs and Xbox 360 games, and now I'm doing my movies. I am however not sure if I should group Blu-Rays and DVDs together under the broad umbrella of "videos" or place them separately. I do own more DVDs than Blu-Rays after all. I've decided to group TV shows and Movies together though, the distinction is more semantic than anything else. Any thought ?

    * Because I can and because I want to.

Wasn't alphabetizing cd's and dvd's somewhere in the Top 5 nerdy things to do? :p

I guess that if I would make a distinction, I would separate shows/series from films, rather that Blu-Ray from DVD. That's because I'm a forgetful dumbass, though. It's easier for me to remember if something is a show/series or film, than to remember whether I bought it on DVD or Blu-Ray. :)

It is but I moved furniture around and now everything was messed up again. Anyway I ended up placing DVDs and BDs together (alphabetically obviously) without a distinction between movies and TV shows, it's just easier that way.

Well done! I've got quite some CD's. Not organized. It takes an awful lot of time to find the right album.

I am ashamed, I have only placed the classical ones and the not classical ones in different racks.

Hmmmm. Before my wife interfered with her classical CD's, all of my CD's were organized alphabetically by artist and then temporally within the artist category. Now, it's a mishmash.

I think it's time to close this thread and start another.
