    That was one of the most complete performances I have ever seen from a rugby team. They were outstanding in every position, including the subs. Wow. What a time to bring out a performance like that. Bring on the final!

    Shame about Wales though. They really deserved to be in the final too. I got to watch the Wales V France game with Michael Jones. What a legend, and what a super nice guy.

    How did they organize those parades so quickly??

    What a heart stopping final that was. Way to do it tough, All Blacks!

    The most predictable world cup in history. I almost wanted the All Blacks to lose, because 1) it's unfair that they are so good, and you come to hate them for it; and 2) because everyone loves unpredictability in sport.

    If they were playing anyone other than France, I'd have wanted them to lose but I can't bring myself to support the French.

    Really felt for Wales.

    England vs The Netherlands next week (football). I've been looking forward to this since the match in august was cancelled due to the riots.
    Yeah!

    Great win by England at Twickenham today! It's not often we beat the All Blacks.

    Forwards were massive, centres played great (especially Manu). For such a young side still in transition, it's a huge result to build on.

    Did you catch it Harbs??

    Football team of the year. Messi got player of the year and Del Bosque got manager of the year. I think we're doomed to see Messi get it every year. He's just an incredible talent. Must be very frustrating for the other footballers who have exceptional years and especially to Ronaldo who's very unlucky to be around at the same time.

    Iker Casillas (Real Madrid);
    Dani Alves (Barcelona) ,
    Gerard Pique (Barcelona),
    Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) ,
    Marcelo (Real Madrid);
    Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid),
    Xavi (Barcelona),
    Andres Iniesta (Barcelona);
    Lionel Messi (Barcelona),
    Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid),
    Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

    5 Barcelona, 5 Real Madrid and 1 Atletico Madrid. The dominance of La Liga's big two is incredible and though they're the two best teams around at the moment there were others who surely deserved a place on the team. Juve had an unbeaten season and some of those players had a great Euros as well. Pirlo especially who should have made it. Likewise it's very funny seeing noone from the European Cup final on the team, though the two teams had poor domestic seasons.

    I don't think you can argue with most of them, other than the defense. Pique, Ramos and Marcelo best in their positions? Not sure I agree.

    Fans and sports press = Summer soldiers and sunshine patriots! :nolike:

    The Danish handball team plays a fantastic tournament, winning all their matches up to and including the semi-final where they beat the Croatian favorites.

    And today all the fans and sports journalists can write and talk about is that the team lost the final to Spain. (OK, they lost badly. But still.)

    (Note: It's always "We won" but "The team lost".)

    What do you think of the state of England's current rugby team, Harbs?

    Very young average age, and the likes of Dan Cole, Geoff Parling, Manu Tuilagi and Owen Farrell are just beast, and Robshaw is a great captain. We have a strong team all the right way through and right through the bench too. If there's one issue it's that we're missing a 'huge' try scorer, but the likes of Chris Ashton and Manu are quite capable of finishing a sniff of a chance.

    I am very confident in this team, and especially in the management - I definitely think we're better than the team in 2003!

    They're pretty impressive I have to say. Which isn't easy for me to say, because you will well know that I have always found the English rugby team to be easily the most annoying sports team in the world. They were definitely very convincing when they ended the All Blacks unbeaten run last year.

    We have Samoa to thank for Tuilagi. The guy is an absolute animal. He's built like a tank but runs so fast, he takes some serious stopping. One of his legs is about the size of my chest!

    I'm no fan of Mike Millbury, but I agree 100% with his tearing into Ovi here:

    And now Sidney Crosby is out indefinitely after getting his jaw broken by a slap shot. Awful timing as Pittsburgh signalled their clear intention to go for it all this year by trading for Iginla. Ouch!

    Milbury is an idiot. There's nothing wrong with Alex Ovechkin, the Caps were just in a bad place earlier in the season.

    Yeah, they're pretty all-in this year. Traded away a whole bunch of picks to get old guys... time will tell if it's the right choice.
