Do you think this is worth the chance to lose a whole point on CON?

I have the Fairy Dragon, god I wish I was neutral so I could use the other Dragon it has much better stats. No way to change now right?

Thats kinda a weird system any power gamer would go with the Pseudo Dragon right? Meaning they have to be Lawful good?

Edit: After doing some more reading I realized I jumped to a conclusion. Fairy Dragon is actually very decent since it has Invisibility and Mirror Image. That will probably keep the thing alive which is the most imporant thing in my book. Its still insane you lose some of your CON foreverrrrrrrr.

You can talk to your familiar and choose a dialogue option that allows you to store him in your backpack. Atlhough some familiars are combat-worthy, the -1 CON on familiar death is a pretty steep penalty. You should only really use them for emergencies or to perform very specific tasks.

The fairy dragon is a decent familiar, you really don't want him anywhere near the frontlines though.

Do I still get the bonus if they are in my backpack? The HP bonus?

What specific task would you want to use a Fairy Dragon for? When would you want to unpack him? Right now he just follows me around.

I never used my familar, it just blocked an inventory space in exchange for the extra HP it grants.
But you can have more fun with it, if it dies there's just use the reload button.

Yes it is worth having that familiar but it is best to keep it in your backpack next to the cupcakes and the party cannon.

Yup, already stumbled on that but thanks. I am wondering what one would actually use the Fairy Dragon for? Mirror and Invisible are two pretty good skillls but I am at a lose for what to do with him. Can I issue commands? Right now he just follows me around.

Fairy dragons are excellent scouts, thanks to the invisibility spell. Just be careful of traps.

You can control him just like any other party member.

Well I always had a great use for my Cat.

Honestly, while playing mods that alter encounters or spawns- its great in scouting and you have the tactical overview and are ready for planning the coming battles.

Oh, and sometimes i use it a bait, to lure enemies into traps/ambushes! :)

I find some of the familiars useful for their spells, but once they cast the spell I either have them jump in the pack or run away. The Fairy Dragon I only found useful to cast invisibility 10' radius, which is usually used either before combat or to escape combat. I never used the psudo-dragon much as there was too much risk in using his stunning breath.

I do have a question about familiars of my own, but I'm unsure if I should hijack this thread or not.
There are other options when you talk to the familiar. Do those options ever lead to some useful or even interesting dialog? The familiar never seems to have any advice for me or anything funny or interesting to say.

If so, could I get some hints on when those dialogs become available? Just giving me a way to use either Infinity Explorer or Near Infinity to view them would be just as helpful since I won't have time to do a whole play-through in the next couple weeks.
