Somewhat happy. There is much that I loved about the game. It has all the potential to be as good as Origins, not as epic due to the more focused story, but every bit as good.

Unfortunately much of that potential is squandered with a title that shipped with numerous corners cut, leaving players to wonder -- "where's the beef?"

Somewhat. For all my gripes about the game, I did enjoy it enough to want to get through it. I can't say I've finished even half the games I own.

Not happy with it at all. Felt like Soul Calibur, with dialogue.

Voted not Happy, although that might be a small exaggeration. On its own it's not a bad game tbh, it's actually pretty decent (I have finished it 4 times after all - one time playing each class and a single solo). I just can't help but hold it up against Origins, and in comparison it really falls short.

Apparently most fans were not happy with it and EA knows that. Heres a link to the article I got via twitter from dragonage update.

Very happy. I'm still playing it and all I have to say it's an excellent, very enjoyable and even rather addicting game, definitely more enjoyable than the first Dragon Age.

Never thought of it that way. Hmmm.. You make an excellent point.

I'm not happy with it one bit. It is now shelved and will be until I'm ready, if ever, to replay the game. Until that time comes, DAO is what I will be playing. At least until ME3 comes out.

Didn't bother. I detest action games masquerading as rpgs, something Dungeon Siege taught me. *Dodges a few Molotov cocktails and grenades and other miscellanea :p * Dumbing down what I thought was a pretty good combat and rules system was a bad move. *Goes back to playing an Arcane Warrior and Leliana and Alistair and Wynne*

Based on the poll results thus far, I think you'll have a fair few items lobbed at you for your comment Beren. ;)

Ever notice how newer rpgs are starting to have feats and abilities that just doesn`t make sense anymore. Back in the old days, a character couldn`t break the laws of physics, unless there was magic involved, in some form. And how things worked were explained properly too, so they made sense.

Take DA2 for example. A warrior can smash his sword into the ground, and this causes enemies to fall over, or get stunned. Or he can jump on the ground, and get the same effect. Roaring also works to stun people. Everyone except his allies, of course, wich has different ears. Varric fires 50 arrows as once. Straight up, inside a room. for 10 seconds, they just start raining down, harming everyone but his allies. The arrows just stick to the ceilling, and drop down? Rogues takes out smokebombs and throws them to the ground. and then backstabs. Tricking the enemy every single time. Unlimited amount of smokebombs of course. The list goes on. We just get told what the skill does, not how it works. Limitations have been removed as well. Remember spells that only worked outdoors\inndoors? Those are gone.

Yes, that irritated me, too – no friendly fire. That made tactics in DA2 all but pointless. Just nuke the sh*t out of everyone, why not.

In DA:O I was very cautious about the spells I used regularly. I was always careful to read the description of every spell, and take special note of any that said "Friendly fire possible" at the end of their description. Which is why - when nuking enemies from a distance - I would always have Morrigan start off with a Bilzzard, to knock down or stun the group so I could get something else off in time, and waited for them to join the battle in melee. In DA:2? No problem! Thunder storms and fireballs for breakfast!

    Dumb. :(

DA2 has friendly fire, but only at Nightmare level. In DAO friendly fire only applied on Hard or Nightmare. If you played on Casual or Normal in both DA games, friendly did not apply.
