I grabbed it. It's far better on PC than on console. Unimaginably better.

Why do you say that? The game is more action-RPG than a pure RPG.

Poor graphics, poor framerate, horrible UI layout, not enough buttons. Oh, and the combat is closer to Dynasty Warriors than an RPG.

I am considering canceling my pre-order. Just found out that Friendly Fire is turned off (no options to turn it on), for all modes except Nightmare mode. Aparantly Friendly Fire was too difficult to comprehend, for their target audience.

Which console system did you play DAII on? I played DAII demo on all three formats. There is a difference but I have DAO on the PS3 so that is the format that DAII was pre-ordered under for me.

Ok, I'm through the demo. A couple points:

    * you need the latest DX 11 to have it work. Get it at Microsoft [IMG]
    * it may not run properly when you have vsync enabled [IMG]
    * anti-aliasing also may be a problem [IMG]
    * the game is just as console-ish as I feared it would be :skeptic:
    * it confirms the impression I got last year at the gamescom (where I already played said demo).
    * As far as playing dynamics are concerned it feels final-fantasy-ish to me :hmm:
    * the skill system looks very final-fantasy-ish to me
    * suggesting that a general trend at Bioware to move away from PCs to consoles :skeptic:
    * free exploration appears to be limited :(
    * It is possible to the extent that you avoid the quest markers on your map, giving you ample time to loot :)
    * so far storytelling is strong and gritty as it was in DA :)
    * visuals and scenery are also nice, and have been improved somewhat over in DA :)
    * game dynamics so far are also walk-fight-cutscene, rinse repeat, so far in an entertaining way :)
    * on the other hand there is some appeal in scything through enemies and having them fly away or disintegrate into gore and pieces

    It will probably be entertaining.

PS: Since I am so fortunate to have six days off (carnival!), I am currently re-playing Return to Ostagar and it feels different (as in PC-ish) as far as playing is concerned, and indeed, the character skilling, while technically similar, looks more console-ish than before.
