Final Fantasy Tactics for PC - How to?

    Can anyone recommend the easiest way to get Final Fantasy Tactics to run on my PC. It was originally released(to my knowledge) on the original PlayStation, never released for the PC. I currently use Windows 7. I am looking for advice that includes which particular ROM download works best, particular links, etc...

    Perhaps you meant ask what particular emulator works best. ePSXe is the emulator for all your playstation (one) needs.

    BTA, I own a Playstation and a copy of FF Tactics. One of only 2 games I own for the original PS. Sorry, I didn't realize this subject was "sensitive". :confused: Let me re-phrase then. Is it possible or legal to have Final Fantasy Tactics to run on my PC? If yes, how?

    First you download the mentioned emulator. You will also need plugins'n stuff for this, shouldn't be too hard to figure out. The hard part is the BIOS of the PS, which you must "dump" off your console, and then use with the emulator.
    Well, since you do own a ps, I believe it might be legal acquire the bios elsewhere, which you should have no trouble with.

    Then you rip the game disc to ISO or some such format. You can also just play from the disc itself, just that it's not very practical, and could cause problems.

    I would also advise getting a gamepad of some sort. Personally, I have a wired Xbox 360 controller.

    It's a grey area because obviously emulators and free ROMs of console games are a great way to pirate said games.

    I use psx as my psx emulator becuase theres no plugings to deal with. You can run the disc in your pc like you would the psx. i would reccomend getting a gamepad tho.

    In the interest of keeping with the law:
    This is from pcsx2.net, a playstation 2 emulator. This seems to be the current standing on ps2. Whether this is also valid for playstation 1, I don't know, but probably. One could ask Sony themselves, if interested.

    I'd wager you can get old PlayStations on the cheap on eBay and the like... This link suggests that some PS3's are more likely to be compatible with PS1 games than others.

    Edit: Old PS1's are going for around 20 bucks on Amazon.
