I bought a cheap telescope a couple months back and today I used it the first time to watch the full moon. The telescope is ok-ish for a the price, but the tripod mount is wibbly-wobbly as hell (but admittedly ok-ish for the low price). But I can see the moon in considerable detail. Amazing.

And thematically fitting, I'm listening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

I just might start to develop enthusiasm for stargazing.

Ragusa, watching paint dry is probably a lot more dynamic...

I think all sentences on this page of the RBP should include the word wibble.

    Tal,
it didn't take me long to start posting, didn't it? But it is interesting enough ;) Actually I can't wait to see Saturn's rings. How long I will watch is another matter.

And on an entirely unrelated note, I shrank my favourite pair of socks when washing them. Damn!

Watching paint dry may be more "dynamic" but it's certainly less romantic and fascinating. I also doubt anyone would write a Sonata to paint drying .

    Beside space is undeniably awesome.

I, for one, have meet the word "wibble" for the first time on BoM. I've heard the likes of « this table wobbles », but never wibble.

'This table wobbles' or 'my table has a wibble'
Perhaps that is how it should go

I'm really rather drunk. The word 'wibble' is now pretty nuch all I can say. However, I like being drunk because I can wind people up and not feel bad about it!

I just thought of something, the many Random Babbling (post or otherwise :p) has pretty much disprove Goldwin's law. As far as I can remember there have been no reference to either [peanut butter] or [jelly] on RBP

post spammus: come to think of it, I just referenced [peanut butter] and [jelly] ... Damn you Goldwin ! You win again

The government wants to remodel the current scholarship system.

Here everyone has right to 10 years of free scholarship, as long as you complete your education (bacherlor + master) within 10 years.

Now they want to stop giving out scholarships for master students (instead of paying a 1000 euros every year, we have to pay the full cost: ~3800) in addition to a fine of 3000 euros for the student and the institution for every extra year.

You should go to the government and go a wiggle! :D

Joking aside, I hope you go. I think the remodeling you are talking about would be a very bad thing for students who need all the help they can get! I am myself thinking of going back to do my masters full time. I'm looking t the amount of work to put in school and the bills to pay in the meantime and it's gonna be tight as hell!
