    It's strange that while so many lonely people shoot themselves during these holidays, others have to puke 'cause someone's actually glad he's got friends and family to create good memories with.

    I'm glad, btw, that in Holland, Christmas is not so heavily commercialised as in some countries. We still have St. Nicholas' day to take care of the commercial side of December. :)

    The celebration of Jesus' birthday in December was originally instituted by the early Christians to draw people away from the Saturnalia. It is a shame in my opinion that it has become so commercialized. The original intent has been lost.

    The gift I most appreciate is just being with those I care about.

    THANK YOU Master of Nuhn for that small bit of validation! I mean, what? I'm taking heat from a woman for talking about how greatly I value my family?????? And further, I share that in spite of having horrible examples from my own parents where marriage is concerned, I'm actually managing to hold my own family together quite well (so far, at least). And instead of an "atta boy" I get a "grow a pair?" -- from one of the more notable BoM forum members, even? I mean, golly. Tough friggen crowd 'round here. It's actually a good thing that I've got a pair of brass ones, or I'd probably be whimpering in the corner right now at the inhumanity of it all. :lol:

    Err, I think you might have confused sensitive for psychotic, as that video seems to fit the latter description far better than the former! :p Okay fine, I guess the underlying message is sensitive, but it was packaged in a whole lot of crazy.

    I agree, let's get this thread back on track. We're talking about Christmas spirit and such, right? So, I'll start with a song:

    "Jingle B*lls, Jingle B*lls, jingle those lovely b*lls."

    Oops, I think the 12 year old in me just made an appearance.

    Okay, on another, hopefully even more appropriate note, I'm not looking forward to taking down my Christmas lights in a few days. I fell off a roof when I was a kid and snapped both bones in my right forearm in half. I've never been great with heights since then.... But the lovely ones push me on to decorate despite that fear.

    [​IMG] My seasonal decorations consist of a small fake tree that can go back in its box again ;)

    Have brought a lot of things back from my parents though (The less I have there the better) so we're in a rather crowded flat!

    I'll probably look into seeing what is salvageable from the garage to see if I can get any pennies for things I can't get to anymore :D

    I didn't gave a flying <d>uck about those damned decorations the years prior, but being FORCED to have this garbage on the forum homepage with NO OPTION TO TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY -- Which we had in the past I might add -- that's GARBAGE, and it's really bringing my piss to a boil. Enough of this crap, already!
