    Third draft of the dissertation completed! Two days to go until I hand it in. Not entirely sure what to do now: I'm fairly happy with it and have got feedback on it. Premature party time?

    I could do without the fog personally, but I sure would appreciate having a day just to chill -- watch some movies, eat some snacks, etc. These 80-90 hour work weeks begin to wear on ole Marceror. Been like this for about a year, but the last 5 months have been really intense. Yeah... a day to chill and relax sounds niiiiiiiiice.

    I pulled nine days straight at work, nearly always finish later, and effective next week I am assuming a new schedule which, bluntly said, I F'N HATE, so it's but a handful of pleasant days before another rainstorm of piss. My power position is in jeopardy, to boot, so I'm really NOT looking forward to work Wednesday morning. I'll stay because I am currently needed, but with a friend of mine having put a good word in with his own boss about me, there is an absolute possibility I'm going to jump ship.

    But this is then, not now. I have a handful of days to think of anything else but work, and I'm about to fire up Still Smokin', and light a hugeass bong, then fall face first in the munchies, just flat out chill out.

    Well 5 days off sounds like a dream right about now... even if it will be followed by the "rainstorm." Since you likely can't do much to change what's waiting for you at work, no reason not to enjoy the time you've got in the meantime. If fact, what better reason could there be to enjoy your time when you know there is some unpleasantness awaiting.

    Chaos on the roads today due to snow. I'm meant to be picking the missus up and an hour ago she said she'd call me when she was ready. An hour ago the roads were far more driveable.

    Yesterday I made coq au vin for (afterwards well fed and happy) friends, and like them I was stuffed and slightly drunk, closing the evening with Espresso and Argangnac as a digestif. A happy mood.
