    It's for their own good.

This guy just married into a two million dollar debt. Just think. If this woman decides to divorce him because she gets the urge for new hard schlong (as many women do. 60% of American wives cheat on their husbands!), he will be expected to repay at least half that debt. Likely he will be expected to pay more. I've had male friends who have been saddled with ALL the debt on a divorce because they were the breadwinner, even though it was the woman who ran up this debt! That's not including alimony and exorbitant child support. They don't even need to be married, just cohabitating (in some countries, for no less than 6 months). So much for the strong independent woman not needing a man, hey? :D

Every time a stupid mangina is exploited, he should be stomped in the nuts by Mike Tyson, and then laughed at by his entire community. Because that is metaphorically what is occurring to him anyway. A woman is stomping them in the nuts, while society covertly laughs at them. Maybe they will make the connection, and then make the break. It's better than another 20 years of slavery and supplication.

We have a good friend who is owed $80K in back child support. After spending $12K of her own money on lawyer's fees, she finally gave up and will no longer pursue the support. Yes, he is in jail for 6 months. Why? Because when her ex went to court for non-payment, he tried to convince the judge that she was on drugs and he should not have to pay. The judge ordered drug tests for her, and to be fair odered one for him as well. She passed and he didn't. So now he is in the slammer, but still paying no support. What a dumbass. So much for "exorbitant child support."

    80K. Um, that *is* exorbitant.

Also, he didn't pay, so he's in jail? So much for debtor's prison having been abolished, lol.

I find it interesting that when a dad lives at home with his child, and isn't earning much, the family cuts their spending. They are economical. The father isn't considered a deadbeat just because times are rough.

However, after separation, if the father can't (or won't) pay the exorbitant costs ordered by a sexist and draconian court, he is considered a deadbeat. The courts don't take such things into consideration. Princess must have her spending money, I guess.

Yes, 5 years, 3 kids. Obviously, you have never had kids. Also, try reading what he is actually in jail for.

Edit: Seems he had plenty of money for his cocaine though... :hmm:

They put him in jail for failing a drug test? No, sorry, don't believe it.

Most likely he was placed in the slammer for 'contempt of court' (ie. refusing to be extorted by the courts).

By the way, what do you think of this?

    http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/..._released_from_jail_after_paying_back_alimony

Wow, paying alimony *38 years* after a divorce. And getting jailed if you refuse (or can't) do so. That extortion, plain and simple. After a divorce, it shouldn't be the ex-husband's concern if his ex-wife is living in the gutter. That's no more his responsibility than mine or yours.

Alimony is the equivalent of paying a prostitute, and not getting the sex.

No, it gets better. He took the test and failed. Then was ordred for some kind of treatment, which he never showed up for. A new test was odered, a few weeks later, which he refused to take, so the judge ordered him into jail.

He screwed himself big time. But never paid a dime in the child support you are crying over. What a creep [he is].

Maybe he wanted to avoid paying child support?

A friend of a friend was ordered to pay child support, which would have left him 90 bucks a week to live on. When he asked the judge how on earth he could live on so little, the judge sarcastically quipped to 'Find a roommate'. So true to form, the man rushed at the judge to punch him in the face. Needless to say, he found a roommate.

 He hadn't paid in 5 years (and never will) - you really think anyone gives a damn?

Nevertheless, he never expected that he would be tested.

Sounds like he knows how to work the system. He should teach his tricks to other divorced fathers, for a fee.

I'm sure he could, during visiting hours at the state prison. ;)

He'll be free in what... 5 months? Many fathers are financially imprisoned for 18+ years.

Don't get me wrong, I think a father is ethically obligated to support a child. But on *their* terms (just as it was when they were living with the woman), not on the whims dictated by dipshit judges and parasitic lawyers. Men aren't forced to pay a exhorbitant amount when living under the same roof as the woman, so I don't see why they should be legally forced to do so if they move out (or are kicked out, by either the woman or courts!)

I wouldn't be surprised if the individual in question was put in the ringer during the divorce proceedings. You don't know, all you've got in the woman's word, and they can lie. Maybe she took him for everything he had, and he literally doesn't have a cent. There are men living in cars and eating out of trash cans because of this bs.

I'm sure he's just getting started with his new career in prison. One thing Texas prisons are good for is turning out career, lifetime criminals.

What I also know is that he perjured himself in regards to her using drugs, which he admitted later he had made up. I know that as a single mom she's had a very difficult time supporting 3 kids on her own. But what does anybody care about that? Nothing.

I know I love my kids. If I had to live on 90.00 a week to take care of my kids, I would find a way to do it. They are worth it.

The saga is still not over.

Again a judge reduced the penalty to $54,000, but the RIAA is appealing the ruling. Poor Jammie; she'll probably never be out from under this... :)

Amazing. It is mind boggling how much money they have spent to ruin this poor woman. If I was the judge I would fine her $500 and tell the RIAA if they appeal and it comes back to my court I'd throw the whole thing out.

Very distasteful. I don't advocate software piracy or stealling others' intellectual property, but it seems to me that the RIAA needs to get a grip on the fact that the world is changing and figure out a better way to distribute their product if the current method isn't satsfactory. Going after a single individual with such zeal and singlemindedness as to ruin them for being just another cog in the machinery of the 'conspiracy,' just to send a message (which is all it is - how much could she really afford to pay?), makes me not want to play ball with them anymore.

There's plenty of good music being made and distributed independantly these days. Given that and their shameful amount of vitriol, I kind of hope the RIAA does go under. Not to put too fine a point on it, **ck them.
