I didn't know Kitrax personally, but my deepest sympathies and condolences to all affected.

It's actually a bit amazing how broken up I am over this. People commit suicide all the time, and I know them not much less than I knew Kit, but this really hurts. I know I am greatly saddened by this, and our on-line community is as well. Sure, we're mainly a mostly faceless bunch of nicknames, but he was still "family" in a more modern sense. It's just so freakin' senseless . . . I imagine that his folks are completely besides themselves and torn up. I can't imagine what it feels like.

I completely understand dmc, I'm having trouble digesting this mysely. I really feel like I've lost a family member.

Rest Well Aaron my friend, to say you will be missed seems so hollow, but I hope what wherever you are right now, you have found the peace you obviously didn't have.

    We love you buddy.

I feel the same way - I barely knew him, but I feel terrible.

I, as well, feel the same. I only exchanged with him over the boards a few times, but I'd been reading his posts for years. Definitely something that makes you feel terrible inside.

That sums it up pretty well. I can't really say I knew the guy and over the years we perhaps made only a few comments to each other, but reading T2's post saddened me, which I didn't expect.

My sympathies to his family and friends.

Terrible, just terrible. A sad day indeed for the community, his contributions and presence will be sorely missed. My sympathies for family and friends.

I don't really think about this kind of things happening on any internet forums I mean posters come and go and some active members simply disappear one moment never to be heard again and for all I'd know they could have done something similar, so in a way ignorance is a bliss in those cases I suppose. The only time I remember experiencing anything similar was when a guy in the same gaming community died of a grenade accident during his military service, but this feels worse. Suicide always leaves so many unanswered questions.

****... This is terrible. Kit was a such a good person, always willing to help tech noobs and others with problems. He was one of the people who made SP the place it is. It's horrible to see someone just go this way. My condolences go out to his family & friends, but words just aren't enough.

Now this sucks, when I first started to read this thread I was shocked but then I thought if he posted that he was going to do it he will probably give ample time for people to send help so I was not that worried until BTA and T2 posted. Not the expected cry for help but a genuine goodbye. Well, farewell Kitrax it was nice to share this community with you.

This is a sad day for us all but Sorcerers Place did all it could do. Taluntaine can be proud of his community. We have lost a valued family member but SP did not stand aside and wait for someone else to act. We have gathered together and we grieve. We are sad we could not stop what happened. We are sad that he did not turn to us for help. We are sad that it ended this way.

    Rest in peace, my friend

I am, as well, one of people that are shocked much more than would ever expected. I mostly just read on boards and I might only replied to his post once or twice (and vice versa). I don't know why this made so deep impact on me (it makes no sense at all), but it did. But I do know one thing; if I who wasn't even his acquaintance am feeling like this, I'm sure that he will always be remembered.

I just saw this now - -I don't often come into SS and so this is an utter shock. As I read the thread from the beginning I was hoping against all hope that he was joking.

I felt a lot of kinship with Kitrax. I wish I could have done more for him after his divorce. He was a good guy, and a good friend. I don't give a damn about the fact I never met him face to face, I lost a friend, and I'm pissed, frustrated, and about 12 other things that I can't even explain.

I hope he finds some of the peace he couldn't find elsewhere.

My shock and grief has now given way to anger. I'm just pissed off at the stupidity of the whole thing. And the selfishness. Between the comments here and on his Facebook page, it's clear that Kit had a lot of people who deeply cared for him and would have moved mountains to help him get through this. And now the pain he was experiencing has been increased tenfold and spread out to all of them. It's maddening.

But then, such reasoning isn't exactly very persuasive to someone so determined to find escape from their pain. Just sucks, man.

I'm still just feeling so sad that one of our own was in such agony yet felt he could not reach out to a single soul. I don't think I can feel angry, for the last time I asked about his own wellbeing was months ago yet I still considered him a friend :(

It's easy to get into a habit of getting by without complaint, and not always obvious to get into the habit of asking those you see every day, who seem cheerful enough, how they really feel.

Man, this is not how I thought my day would start. This really shook me up!

I knew him not, but he has been an important part of SP and its community since way back.

For me, it feels like he has been here forever, and now he's not anymore.

    May he rest in peace!

No matter how much you ask or care; some times people just don't want help. The way he acted prior to his passing makes me think that even if someone had asked, "Are you okay? Do you have anything you want to talk about?" he would have said no. Planning to do things past when he planned to pass on [thanksgiving] is an indication that he didn't want any help, that he was going to do it one way or another. I don't say this to stop anyone from being sad, but to hopefully stop people from blaming themselves.

The anger will fade eventually, acceptance replaces it, but the why will never go away. DR you summed it up perfectly: "Just sucks, man."

I couldn't believe it when I started reading this thread, expecting instead a proclamation of leave from the web, as it happens once in a while - but then this ... what a foolish thing to do.

A sad day for Sorcerers indeed. Farewell Kit. And all the best to his family.
