Ok, so everything I've seen and read about 'Lair of the Shadow Broker' DLC for Me2 says that it was supposed to be released on September 7th...which is today. It's now 6:30pm MST...and BioWare's site is still missing a link on the DLC page for me to download it! :almostmad:

Anyone know what's up? Is it going to be delayed?

It is out. They had some issues with the packaging but those are fixed now.

I purchased and downloaded it yesterday, and haven't installed let alone played it yet for lack of time. I heard about problems too from a colleague - lag and stuff like that; he still had that quite recently. I'll see. Reviews so far have been pretty enthusiastic.

If it lives up to the praise it should be fun ... more tonight (or so I presume).

I liked the 'Kasumi' DLC, very well made, but shortish. And you'll get a very nice weapon. The NPC is useful as well.

As for the 'Overlord' DLC; nice story, well made, but I don't really like all that flying around with the Hammerhead all that much. It plays longer.

The 'Lair of the Shadowbroker' DLC is again very well made, and offers a nice story. Takes some three to four hours to complete. Nice story, nice scenery, interesting fights.

IMO 'Kasumi' and 'Lair of the Shadowbroker' are both better than 'Overlord', which by no means is bad - I just am not all that much into the Hammerhead mini game.

I bought them all, under the rationale that they are the equivalent to a cinema visit. But then, while I play along, so to speak, I don't really like the DLC thing. Usually it means they sell an incomplete game that they then complete for extra payment. Somewhat annoying, considering the price one pays for a supposedly full game anyway.

Ok, so I'm a little lost. I completed Liara's data hacking quest, and the suspected SB agent....but now it seems to be on hold. What's going on here? I haven't seen any fighting, and my trigger finger is starting to itch.....

When you have the DLC there is the dialogue option when you talk with Liara, iirc something like: 'Let's go get the Shadowbroker', after which she asks you to visit her in her flat. You take the cab and things start.

That is distinct from the data hacking quest(s) you get from her, which are standard quests.

I never get that option. All I can do is ask her is how she is doing. She says something along the lines of, "Even with <assistant's name> dead, it could take time...ya da ya da... And I'll be there."

At which point Shepard ends the conversation.

Do I have to wait till a certain point in the game before I can continue with the quest? :hmm:

Well, I have no idea then.

Afterthought: You get the info on the Shadowbroker's hideout from Cerberus i.e. you will get iirc notified per message i.e. you need to be on the Normandy for that. Have you left Illium for the Normandy after installing and returned then?

I noticed with mine that if you haven't reached a certain level (I think, usually for me it's after I do Horizon) you don't get the option. Twice now, I've come back from Horizon (or maybe it was the collector ship) I've had a private message from the Illusive Man saying that he found information on the Shadow Broker that I should take to Liara. So you may just not be at the right place in the game.

*edit* Sorry for the crappy memory but I know it's time/level triggered.

That's probably correct since I went to Illium relatively late in the game.

Anyway, I don't think that what amounts to 'grow up and try later, son' is exactly the sort of reply Kit was looking for :shake:

Hey, it's better than nothing. Unfortunately, I've been too busy to play any video games lately....

Well...whatever I did seemed to fix whatever might or might not have been wrong. :p

I completed the LotSB mission...but I have a few spoiler questions:
    • Now that Liara is the new SB, is that it? Is the romance over?
    • I've been getting hints that my decisions in ME2 will carry over to ME3...so when it comes to relationships, should I avoid them for the rest of the game?
    • IIRC, if you turn down the normal romances, and if you flirt with Kelly, she will give you a striptease later on in the game....do you think that would mess something up with any possible romance with Liara in ME3?

    Spoiler answers (or possible answers)

Did you talk to Liara after the quest was over? There's an option to invite her up to the Normandy to take a tour. I won't get into the specifics of that since I'm not sure if you've done it or not.

As far as avoiding relationships, I think that's a matter of personal taste. Obviously some people are sticking with the romance from Game 1 all the way through, staying true etc. but I also know people who had a romance in the first game and a romance in the second. Bioware has stated this might be a dangerous idea ;)

I don't know for sure about Kelly but I *think* I read somewhere that she does not affect the main romances. Hopefully someone else can clarify a little better with that question.

Yes. I also made sure to take all the paragon (right clicking) options whenever possible.

Ah...that's good enough for me to steer clear.

    Thanks Hammer :)
