I know how you feel. I ordered my car stuff last month, and I've had nothing but problems. To make matters worse, UPS is holding my order until Monday. :bang:

On the bright side, your HDD thread can continue to thrive in the TM forum. :thumb:

The funny thing with the snow is that where I grew up there is about 2 inches of snow whereas I remember that some winters when I was a kid we used to get as much as 3 feet and more. It doesn't make any sense except for the fact that there is definitely something wrong with the weather.

Ok, well I guess this is kinda how it transpired. We (well my roommate drove and I rode) drove up to a party to see how my friend was doing and to give another one a ride home. I saw the guy who was supposed to be taking care of my friend out there, and I yell out :

"Why the **** aren't you taking care of [hername] right now, get back in there." (yes I'm drunk).

The kid escalates it waaay to fast a drew a knife:

"Let's go right now man, I got a knife. Get outta the car."

"You're breaking out a knife for a fistfight. Damn you are a b*****"

(Some variation of I'm a real man goes here)

"You know what? Who cares, you got a knife. I got my bare hands mutha******, let's go."

Notice at this time my friend drove away (smartly) and I couldn't get out because it was a two door and I was in the back. The guy was actually reaching inside the car trying to grab my head at some point with his knife in the other hand failing to get in (broken hand). He told us to come back with friends if we wanted and we'd go. Not really being in the mood for beating up losers, we didn't plan on going back, but another friend needed a ride and everyone said the guy left. Nope he shows back up with the knife in hand. I told him to drop it. He drops the knife and then I'm held back, as my roommate throws the guy out the house one handed. Like a rag doll. For real.

If it wasn't a girl in front of me to hold me back I would have gone for it.

@Chickenisgood: getting stabbed sucks. People get wounded, maimed, scarred. Not backing down is brave but taking chances is definitely not worth it. Losing your temper never helps in such situations whereas if you keep your wits about you that can really make a difference. Still, some people are just mean drunks and I can understand your anger but you should be more careful. It's not just about getting knifed, if you bash that guy's head in you'll probably be in trouble too.

Nothing good comes out of a fight and if you can avoid getting into a fight then you should avoid it. If you're cornered and can't avoid it that's another matter altogether but in the end that only means trouble.

[IMG] I've seen enough violence to find it repulsive

Violence has existed since the stars were young. Like it or not, it's a part of life, and a part of what makes us human. Some embrace it, some don't. I admit I like opening a can of whoopass on someone who deserves it, though one thing experience taught me is that violence has undesirable side-effects/repercussions. I currently have two broken knuckles that are in pretty bad shape, and trying to go around with everyday life with broken bones suck... a permanent reminder of the price to pay to use violence. Just think what could've happened with that damned blade, you could have ended up war worst than me, dude.

ION, there was another contribution to my phone collection, and I unlocked that sucker in, oh, 30 seconds. Gotta love DCT3/DCT4.

Punches can be almost as bad as knives. Punches can break noses, ribs and teeth. Violence is not pretty and the consequences can be dire indeed (both for you and for others).

I wasn't going to mess with a guy with a knife. I just didn't realize he had it in his hand. Next time we saw him he threw it aside and that's when it was going to go down.

My friends and I aren't dumb. We realize there's a difference between teaching a lesson, and seriously injuring someone and legal consequences. If you're going to do it, they need to deserve it, and you need to know what you're getting into. Oftentimes the legal system can't handle situations so you have to yourself.

Really though, you can't take a knife out on me or one of my friends without getting what you deserve. Heck the guys with me were far more pissed than I was about it.

    ---------- Added 0 hours, 9 minutes and 46 seconds later... ----------

Oh and I can add that it was less of me being a mean drunk, and more me being a smart***/dumb*** calling him out for what he was. I appreciate honesty :p

In all truthfulness, I am one of the least confrontational people you could meet, the guy did some things that he really deserved something... I guess he's going to jail for a couple years later this week, so hopefully he learns his lesson.

@CIG: You never know what may happen when you start "teaching lessons" ... What if the guy has a heart condition that you don't know about?

    That or he gets dead.

I'm not talking about your average schoolyard brawl, I'm just pointing out that if you get into a real fight there are consequences. One shouldn't be afraid of violence but one shouldn't get into fights without thinking about consequences.

A human body is a very fragile thing. Anyway I don't want to turn the RBP into the AoDA so I'll just stop as I believe I've made my point.

    Good one! :shake:

I've just realized that Kitrax rhymes with anthrax. :p

EDIT: I'm currently thinking about changing my screen name to Carathrax... At least the spelling would be close to the actual pronunciation. :hippy:
