I hate them because one plowed into me from behind last week and I just got confirmation from the doctor that I cracked a rib when I fell. I now have at least another month until it heals. So much for my getting any more skiing in this month and then after this month I get to busy until spring.

Sue him for the pain and suffering of missing out on great skiing action!

Or take his board and smash it in his head. That should knock some sense into the SOB.

    What an ass.

    One of two things happened:
#1 - He really sucks at snowboarding (like me) and lost control
    #2 - He's a total pr*ck. :nono:

There are both kinds of those people in surfing. A lot of short boarders are really cocky, and cut long boarders off all the time. Our boards are big and heavy...and we've got just as much right to be out there as anyone else...including the boogie boarders who drift out too far. :p
The bad thing about those short board a**holes, is that they're boards are often really sharp at the tip. :nolike:

Not always true Kit. Usually the snowboarders are the younger crowd -- they typically run at the limit of what they think they can do. The snowboard itself also lends to semi-out-of-control behavior as a wipe out on the snowboard is usually not as damaging as on skis (the shorter snowboard doesn't torque the knee nearly so much).

That said it's not the snowboard ... the same type of people on skis are just as dangerous (even more so because the snowboarder can do an intentional "wipe out" without risk of injury to avoid the crash). Young kids on skis are the worst (no fear, short skis that can turn on a dime, and no clue of the 200 to 60 pound relationship).

I feel the need to clarify. It was an accident. I'm sure the boarder is a better boarder then I am a skier. I made a turn that he wan't anticipating (although the uphill person always has to be aware of the people downhill of them) and we collided. He was probably a late teen, but was very respectfull and apologetic (sic). I didn't know how hurt I was at that time.

My problem with boarders is that I dont' believe the way boards work enable them to have sufficient vision as to what is happening around them.
