[IMG] I can't even afford Christmas this year. Should be interesting to see how some people react to THAT. I know a lot of people take it as a personal insult if they buy somebody something and don't recieve as much in return.

I think Kev is a little like that :mommy: then again he spends a LOT on other people.

Christmas shouldn't be about money and gifts but about being with the persons you love.

Looking at the picture Montresor posted makes me dizzy with laughter.

[IMG] Kev and I won't be together this Christmas :(

We're going to alternate in future years who's family we visit though.

Ziad, since when have I been a man? :skeptic:

Nah, they were locals to the Birmingham area.

For some reason I read "German market" and my brain decided the original post was made by Rags... so I didn't think you were a man, I thought you were Ragusa. Not sure if that makes it any better :D

I don't know about you but reading that post makes me think of a really weird type of Santa. How can I erase the image that has been conjured up? :aaa:

Monty, you deserve at least a hundred rep points for that absolute piece of classic art. One thing, though... I'd blast the fat piece of trash with a freaking bazooka instead of a boring ol' gun. Roasted reindeer, anyone?

Oh yeah, I almost forget... strap a huge tank of napalm on the fat SOB's back before blasting his fat ass to cinders... or is it ashes...? Whatever. Makes no damn difference to me. Only the end result matters.

Another red piece of trash? Well, two's better than just one.

ION... hmm, on second thought, it's more for the work thread...

Today sucked. I do not think I will understand exactly how much today sucked for several more weeks at that.

Hi peeps! After a long time of not being arsed to write, I'm back to... do something or another.

ION, test weeks are not good for your health. Not that I'd read or concentrate on them, no no.

Trell! Good to see you around again. :)

Long day today. It involved a lovely handful of crystals + oil which is now probably gone.

    A whiny, rambling rant below:
It also involved me thinking one thing (basically, "don't fix what isn't broken" and "crystals = win") and the people who know a lot more then me about chemistry in general proposing something entirely different, which we did and things went disappointingly wrong. I am dying to say "told you so" and in part regretting that I didn't argue my opinion more - but it wasn't really my place to object - and they are probably right. Still, those were beautiful crystals.
Next time we make them (and by the desolate look of things, next time will be quite soon) I'll try to convince people to let me do this as I want it (rinse with aether, then add base and extract, rather then dissolve in CH2Cl2, wash with base, then hit the column.)
Maybe we could even dodge the column entirely...

There is nothing as frustrating as a column that drinks up your substances and keeps them there, forever. It's like a parallel Dimension of Yields Lost activated by inattentive thoughts around silica. Or a sponge.

Weekends are too far apart, these days.

    Whenever I see Trell's portrait, I think it's Matheis(sp) coming back... :bad:

Sometimes I miss the old SPers.

[IMG] I still look out for them from time to time. Every so often I see an oldy appear but not post. It's a shame.

I'm peachy. Got a D&D group, killed the trojans that were lurking in my comp and there's a full bottle of Jack Daniels left.

@Kit, ya I could change it to something someone hasn't used before the next time I "contribute" something. On a totally unrelated note, anyone want Team Fortress 2 voices for BG2? :p
I could of course just pay a tithe for the SP clergy. Hmmm.

A FULL BOTTLE OF JACK!?!? How is that possible?!?! The only way I have a full bottle is if I have a case -- one of them is usually full (with others significantly less so). In fact, in my bar right now are two bottles -- 750 ml and 1.25 liter -- that are both woefully low.
