Maybe if the British rail service was the epitome of smooth....alas we are not in Switzerland where they know what will be going on with the trains in the next 8 years, we don't know what will happen in the next 5 minutes, for all we know there could be "the wrong sort of leaves on the line" :p

Ah well there'll be seats all the way down to Birmingham and if I'm lucky I'll be ahead of the commuter run so it'll stay empty! :D (I have done this journey quite a bit in the last couple of years).

I only pass through Birmingham briefly, wish my lasagne would defrost, perhaps if I stare at it with murderous rage it might defrost quicker...

That's the word we use over here (although we don't have a specific version of this dish). :D

[IMG] "Lasagne" is the Danish word. The French must have borrowed it from us. :D

Its also just the way I say it la-zag-knee cos its more fun than saying it properly so I guess if I spelt it wrong that's the reason :)

Ah, I was mostly saying it in jest (I imagined someone saying it "la zan NEIY!" and chuckled), but that is interesting Carad.

    Haha, nice pronunciation, Chicken.

I wondered why there was a huge article about Kalashnikov in the papers...

Empty day! I am starting to like Thursdays.
Also, diethylzinc is scary (appears as white smoke dripping slowly down the needle into the reaction mix, ignites with air, react violently with water...)
*hugs the lab hood and nitrogen ducts*

I had to take Jessica back to the Emergency Room again last night. The Doc doesn't know what's wrong with her...so she gets to go see two different specialists this week... Good thing all this is happening now. These two ER visits would have crippled us financially not too long ago.

I single dose of Morphine costs $163, 50ml of IV antibiotics cost $230, and to have the ER doc come in cost over $600... Total bill for her first visit was over $2800, and I'm expecting the second visit to be well over $4000 since we were there for 6 hours and had many more tests done. That $150 co-pay per visit is a pain, but it's better than having to foot a $6800+ bill. :bad:

In our public health service, we bring our health card, give it to them and the state is charged, not us.

My flatmate's unopened copy of Modern Warfare 2 is lying around here. He won't be back until tomorrow, so I'm currently struggling against the temptation to take it out and pull an all-nighter in order to complete it before he's even seen it. Must resist...

[IMG] Carefully unseal the cellophane, take out the CD, put in a ransom note and seal the cellophane up again.

    Will be priceless!
