Resident Evil 5 on the 360. Really good fun but the last boss battle is kicking my ass!

I have been playing Runes of Magic for more than 1 month. It's a free MMORPG and there are non PvP servers which are exactly what I want. Other players are friendly too.

Old School Fantasy General. Going with the Sorceress Modra as my General this time. I realy like the Werebears on the 3rd continent. They tear up the Rat-men.

    Last Scenario

(FF series look alike, but the tone is... disenchanting. Theme song for it would be war and the meaning of heroism.)
Enjoying it a lot. I cried for most adversaries so far... in fact, there are just a few battles I felt like fighting.

I'm curious then - why do you fight those battles? Is there some compelling reason storywise that you must fight them? It seems to me that if you dislike fighting them so much, and the game seems to bring this idea to the fore, that there should be some non-violent way of resolving the conflict.

Mind, I don't know the first thing about this game; I'm just curious as to how the game implements battles that you don't want to fight.

Well, it works exactly like FF - the battles in question are bosses and such encounters - you can't bypass them, you simply follow the "script" of the in game plot.

As for why I don't want to fight them - I like the people on the other side and am wary the encounter might end in them dying (NPCs like Felgorn, Earp, Dracovic even Ortas at one point). This is often not the case, of course, but there is the possibility.

As for how the game does it - you are given insight into why they are doing what they are doing, their backstories and personalities. None of the bad guys (maybe one exception) are cliche villains out for Evil and Power - the game gives you their reasons - makes you understand them. I really like that trait, but it's rarely prominent in games, in general.

Even when you know you have to stop the other side for the good of everyone or whatever, you wish you could end it peacefully, with no one getting hurt.

I'm playing it mostly to learn what happens next :) (though I think I've reached the last fight, last night)

Finished part 1 of Tales of monkey island, last night. Gotten abit into the second part now. Good fun. But I am not sure if the feeling from the first 3 games are there. Its way better than the 4th game though.

    Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Ten times better than the first one which was a good game. 2 hours in and so far it has been a great ride. Also this has to be one of the best looking console games to date, if not the best.

Baldur's Gate Tutu. I've never finished BG before, I tried before but the walking speed was killing me. It's vastly improved with Tutu and I'm really enjoying it - just started chapter five. The NPC Project is brilliant too.

After sorting through the "important" stuff I brought I recently found an old box containing some of the first strategy games I played on the PC. On a nostalgia run atm, heh. I've outgrown these... still pretty good games though. The campaigns on some were pretty short, for some reason I keep remembering old tricks/exploits when I need them. :p

The Tone Rebellion, Netstorm: Islands at War, Warwind II, 7 Kingdoms, Lords of Magic (the original one), Master of Orion and Theme Hospital.
