    Not sure if this is the right thread, but there doesn't seem to be a more suitable one.

    Is there a limit or any guideline on attaching images to a post? I had a look at the rules but the only mention of any limitation to images is for signatures, not the body of the post. Naturally I won't go crazy and upload 100 images in one post, but I'm wondering if it's considered acceptable or if it's preferable to have a link to the image in my album.

    To be specific, I was thinking of spicing up my TES thread with the occasional images in cases where it can replace a long-winded paragraph, or if there's something really cool or funny going on in the screenshot.

    What is thy ruling, o glorious beacon of light? :p

    Quite simple; you currently can't attach images (or any files) at all, as that functionality is disabled. So if you'd like to show images in your posts, simply upload them to your gallery and you can then show them in your posts directly via IMG tags.

    That's what I meant by attachment (obviously it wasn't the right word).

    So is there no limit to how many IMG tags I can use in a post? Can I see how many it takes to break the software? :p

    The limit is 15 images per post, but note that that includes smilies as well. So if you're hitting the invisible wall with pics just split them into more posts, it's ok in such a circumstance.

    OK, really stupid question. How do I join the Mature Users social group? There isn't a "Join Group" link like with other groups. The disclaimer seems to imply that I need to PM Tal to request membership (along with the agreement wording) - is that all I need to do?

    You can use any words you like, though the censor is still in effect as it works board-wide, but you can evade it if you feel like it.

    I have a question about uploading images.

    If I understand the rules the images will be resized to 800x600. What happens to widescreen screenshots? Do they go to 800x500 or to 960x600? I prefer to resize images myself, and I'd like to know if the larger one can be used.

    I've also used that some people (not giving away names :p) have uploaded images that are larger than 800x600. Is this one of the privileges of SPS or other special VIPs?

    IIRC yes, they'll get resized by keeping the ratio, so whichever sides are the largest will hit the limit and the other sides won't; so 800x500 if the limit is 800x600 for example. You can't go beyond 800 or 600 pixels on either side so that's a hard limit.

    And yes; SPS account holders can have pics up to 1024x768 in size. We don't go beyond that for purely practical reasons (you need to scroll to see pics larger than that in full on non-wide monitors, and we conserve space).
