We get quite a lot of foreign folk turn up at the main events run here. There are four big events a year and we can get thousands of people at them. It's incredible to see.

 

My new PC components arrived this morning and I was so happy!

Then while opening one the boxes my thumbnail broke and about half of it snapped off, exposing all the flash underneath and bleeding quite profusely. Hurts like hell!

Thankfully it's the left thumb and I'm right-handed, so I can still sort-of function normally.

But it still means I can't use my left hand properly, and how the hell am I supposed to put a PC together with only one hand?!

OK, mood swings galore today...

 

Ack! The pain in my throat is unbearable! It hurts to speak, swallow food or drink, hell...it hurts to *breathe*!!!

Anyone want to trade me a complete respiratory system...you know, one that works?

Dude, what about Kit?!

Packing sucks. Managed to put my back out so have not done as much as I'd hoped. If I get woken up at 5am again I'll be up packing to Rammstein and Lamb of God. I don't have to live here anymore and like hell I'm pandering to the hungover anymore.

Oh for the love of Satan, looks like I made the mistake of underestimating that former friend of mine's stupidity, and big time -- she abysmally failed to get the sarcasm, and now is telling me knowing I'm alive puts sunshine in her day!!! GAH, calling her a dumb [expletive] is a freaking understatement! I guess this calls for the big guns -- time to whip out the entire artillery and lay her flat on her back with a firework of streaming profanities and name-calling as well as totally free jabs at her liking of garden gnomes -- not the real deal, but one perticular SOB who was definitively worthy of the title.

I still can't believe it. This one is so dumb she wouldn't know sarcasm even if it walked right by her.

Anyhoo...this year has really sucked health-wise. I haven't been ill so often since I was 10-ish. Hopefully once summer gets here things will improve.

 

I know how you feel. Have pretty much been bound to my wheelchair this year and since January I haven't had the strength to be able to push myself either.

Problem being now Sal and I are no longer together I have nobody in this city who will help me get around. Will make the rest of my university course interesting if I can't attend half my classes. Am looking at moving into a house opposite the uni, problem is it's got a mainroad between the house and the uni itself meaning I have to use the underpasson my own with limited mobility

Kev is looking to get transferred South though, so we might get a place together nearby

 

But look at the bright side of your situation...you could get a Hover Round electric wheelchair. If I lived near you, I'd sup it up for you. Not much, just upgrade the motors/gears, bigger tires, and a 3-point restraint belt for when you're going 80mph down the highway...

 

After seeing part of the name involved 'hover', I'm now imagining 8 racing around in an anti-grav chair.

Actually that sounds pretty cool. Wish I had one of those.

I can't even afford an electric wheelchair if I wanted one so far just need to keep money aside to repair the manual I have!

I'm also going to start blasting people with magic at LARP, I can't go more than five minutes without somebody trying to get me to get spikes on the wheels or something else

I have bumper stickers on my chair and had a bell and a horn for when I needed to get people out the way (the number of times I've been walked into or pushed around by some idiot!) People stare, at least with stickers on they have something to read while they do. But I am not altering my chair any further, there's a fine line between having a personal touch and becoming everybodys joke.

One of my friends even has a motorbike engine in her garage that her and her mother keep threatening to modify

 

You could get a pack of huskies to pull you!

Not sure how it'd work in lectures though....

 

My thumb is much better today, so I'm passing on all Silvery's good vibes to Kit. May they serve you as well as they served me!

In other news my new PC was put together yesterday night (with only 9 fingers... yeah it took a while) and now it's up and running! I haven't had time to install the OS but I plan on doing this tonight, then I'll have it all to myself for the weekend!

Time to start hunting all those games I've been meaning to play for a couple of years... NWN2, Witcher, err... that's it?

The next few days are looking up to be pure with no banging head against wall! And to top it all off I get paid today!

 

Just got from a fantastic week with the girlfriend We went to Bath for a week it was lovely, best weather possible! We also got an upgrade from the hotel because a baby seagull fell from a nest on the roof and ended up in the gutter outside our window. It was making lots of noise and so I went and told reception and they gave us a new room no extra charge! 4 poster bed awwwww yeah!

Bit sad its over, what with us going to seperate uni's we don't get much time together but we make do with what we get Had to come home eventually.

Now to defragment my computer...last time I did this it took 2 days solid to do...I don't do it often

 

Good thing it's really not necessary in XP.

 

Note to self: Windows XP pre-SP2 crashes on install if you use a PCI-E card.
