I decided it was about time that I join the forums as I've been going to the site since 2001 (sometime during the summer), greetings to all.

    My Glorious Return!

After nearly two weeks in Busch Gardens and the Outer Banks - I'm back. Pictures of Jack (including lunch with Elmo at Sesame Place in Busch Gardens) to be posted in the next couple of days, as soon as I have time to download my pictures.

Why does it feel like I need a vacation as soon as I return from vacation?

Well, the Busch Gardens is because Jack is a Sesame Street junkie. However, the main part of the vacation was a week in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Every year, about 30-50 people from my wife's side of the family (the attendance varies from year to year) meet for a week in the Outer Banks for a kind of vacation/family reuinon combination. This was actually Jack's second trip to the reunion (although I'm sure he doesn't remember the first trip as he was less than one year old.)

The only reason we went to Busch Gardens (the one in Williamsburg, Virginia - not Florida) is because we actually pass Williamsburg on the way to the Outer Banks from Baltimore. We left a day earlier than we otherwise would have, went to the park, and stayed overnight in Williamsburg before completing the drive to the Outer Banks the next day. It actually broke up the trip quite nicely - Jack isn't even 2 yet, so keeping him in the car for 7-8 straight hours can be unpleasant.

I can remember when they used to give free beer at Busch Gardens -- unfortunately they stopped the practise before I could participate. I felt slighted so I've not been to a Busch Gardens since. Although I have had beer in Busch Stadium (but it wasn't free -- I mean what's the point in naming a structure after a brewery if there's no free beer).

Wow, I thought that it was Bush Gardens, didn't realise it was the name of a brewery!

Yeah Silvery, it's owned by the same company that makes Budweiser. When Budweiser was sold last year to a European beer company there was talk that Busch Gardens might close, as a theme park was not part of the company's plans. I do not know what the final verdict of that was.

I also did not know that there was a time you could get free beer at Busch Gardens. You could still get beer virtually anywhere. All of the concession stands, in addition to selling soft drinks, sell a variety of Busch products, available both as draughts and in bottles. And the costs are not particularly high as far as amusement park prices go. The beers were selling for $5, and conisdering you spent $4 for a soda, that's not bad. It's certainly less than you spend for a beer a baseball or football game. So while it isn't free, it is reasonably priced.

T2 - You should open up a chain of the strip joints named Busch Gardens. With the free beer of course...

Hello everyone. I want to introduce myself to the Sorcerers' Forum. I was looking around the internet and stumbled across this website. It looks like a lot of fun.

I love to read and learn. My specialty is writing. Somewhere in the middle of moving from place to place with my spouse, I picked up the knack of rescuing cats. We just got our sixth (the house won't hold any more). I love horses and used to be a rider. Not being able to do that anymore, I maintain my interest in Thoroughbred racing.

PS, I'm never getting married again. It was the biggest pain in the ass.
