"You know, StarCraft II is so freaking awesome. I mean, those fans out here are desperate for this game, they'll buy anything! Yet we can't really charge it much higher than say $99.99 or there'll be riots!"
"You're right. Hey, you know what we could do? Make the contents SEPARATE. Then they'll have to pay 3x the amount!"
"Sweet! And we can call it a 'feature' !"

Anyhoo. On one hand, I'm pretty pissed. But on the other, as Tal said Blizzard has yet to make a bad game. It just seems like Blizzard's getting too greedy for their own good.

@Silvershield: Blizzard DID develop it in secret for a few years, right after Frozen Throne, IIRC.

The missions better be bloody good, though. If it's just standard Build and Destroy, I think I'll murder someone.

Apparently they're going to put a year between the releases. wtf. Now I'm getting angry.

OTOH, I suppose you could always play some quality fan-made campaigns to keep your appetites satisfied whilst you wait for Blizzard to get their damn act together.

I always enjoyed the installation levels. They were basically like the Alien movie. Expanding on those would be nice :)

Back on topic, even IF they do release it as three separate parts, will you still buy it? I sure as hell will.

Maybe, maybe not. I agree with the above posts that Blizzard have yet to disappoint - emphasis on the yet. I don't like this particular development and above anything I do not want to be disappointed by Starcraft II, of all games. That's a sequel I've been looking to for 10 years now. If the individual games are reasonably priced and the campaigns are not just long due to filler, but actually interesting and engrossing, then I'm definitely getting it. Whether I get each installment then wait a year for the next one or get them all when they become available in one package is another thing to consider.

Yes, I'll still buy it. But I won't be happy when I do.

If they do make it as mini-expansions, then I would be more happy to shell out 40 bucks or whatever on it. But I would still be angry and swearing all the way.

I assume all three races will be playable from the get-go, but the campaigns just aren't there? If so, then it's not really a big deal because you can bet the fine folks at http://www.campaigncreations.org will pull out something cool before long. Plus, multiplayer won't really be affected (not that I play mp anyway).

Though if they're really going to charge for Battle.net then they must be out of their minds. Don't they make enough money as it is from WoW? Greedy bastards.
