I just installed Warcraft III. I bought it when I got the Diablo battlechest.

I played the training campian with the Orcs and got them out the of the internment camps.

    Question:

When I play the Orcs later on will my hero (Thrall) get to keep his level and items?

Now off to the Human Chapter. :)

    No spoils please.

Hehe sorry about the other thread, I probably should have written *MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* but meh, there wasn't too many :p

As for Thrall, YES he does keep the items he had in the prologue once you start up the Orc campaign again.

With every consecutive level, each hero will retain exactly the same items they held in the previous mission.

Almost finished the thrid Human chapter.

I think I've noticed there is going to be no ship building and navel battles.

    :sosad:

This plays almost more like a rpg game than a rts game.

Yeah, I was pretty sad when I figured out that naval warfare was taken out of the game. :(

The single player campaign is great because it actually combines a bit of both! Once you start playing multi-player however, it becomes all strategy.

    Hee hee...
So my Fallen Paladin is a Death Knight now? :p

Sucks that death coil doesn't restore HP of the Death Knight like it did in 2.
Almost got me killed in the first mission...

    How does the replay work?
I haven't been able to figure it out.
Maybe it doesn't work for the one player mode?

 That's what Death Pact is for! Coil is used to heal your troops and damage the enemy LIVING units.

If you're playing the game with the latest patch, there's an option that enables you to save the replay after every match. If not, you can always manually save it at the end of the game, on the scores screen. Unfortunately, you can't save replays in the single player campaign.

In the last Human mission Arthus picked up the sword Frostmourne and it added chaos to his attact.

Now even though he's still carring it around as a Death Knight his attack has returned to "normal".

    What's up with that?

Well, when he received Frostmourne, he gained a bit of a power boost, i.e. he dealt Chaos damage instead of normal damage (deals full damage to all armour types).

However, when the Undead campaign starts, the developers couldn't allow him to retain the chaos damage as it would make the game imbalanced. He DOES start off as a level one hero you know...

Bad enough I had to lose all my items.
I had a ring of regeneration and something that helped my mana restore fast too.
    A +12 claw for attack.
    +3 ring for protection.
And that great freeze orb that slowed down targets once you hit them!

    All gone.

    He sucks at battle too.
They should have let him keep the chaos bonus.

I have to hide him behind a dozen skeletons or the Paladins (or now the elves) kill him.

Yeah the Undead campaign really doesn't do him justice. Death Knight's may seem a tad weak in the campaign, however used correctly in multiplayer, you'll see why he is the most UD user's favourite hero.

DC gets very powerful on the offensive, and like holy light, it's great for keeping your armies up. It's one of the longest range spells in the game too, so make sure you use it to its full advantage.

Many people make the mistake of focusing him in late-game battles. That can prove very costly... Even if the player is terrible at controlling him and micro-managing, Death Pact always acts as a get-out-of-jail-free-card.

Yes, you need to surround him, bolt him before he uses the teleport scroll, follow with holy light and hack away. Alternatively, you focus him, then use bolt + light ("nuke") when he is running away. :p

It's quite hard to surround a good player though, especially if he's got boots.

Unfortunately, not as exciting as you'd think :(
