Hello? do you even bother to read our responses coin?
Elevators cars fell, in some cases almost 80 floors to the lobby. Do you not realise how much force that would have generated when they reached ground level? Can you say BIG BOOM!! I'm not suprised at all that the windows were blown out.

Also your video isn't credible as it uses early working theorys as evidence & continues to try to pass molten ALUMINUM off as molten steel.

As far as you making a mistake about the gold, it took all of 5 minutes to find the truth about how much was at the fed & fort knox. Why would you post such an obviously BS figure for the WTC without checking it out?
You obviously aren't going to believe us no matter how many or much of your "proof" that is disproved so i'm not gonna try anymore.
    Have fun it ConspiracyLand.

Well, yes it is. America has many vagrancy laws, which put folk in jail for being poor, including the homeless. Btw, I'm a liberal and a Christian, and I agree with Morgoth, T2, Martaug, etc, that there was no conspiracy, except for the opportunity to use 9/11 to start the War in Iraq. IMO, your view is overly cynical to the point of being almost hysterical (and I don't mean the "funny" definition either).

Oh sure, I'm the aggressor? You're the one coming up with vague theories, you started this thread attacking everyone else who didn't agree with you. But, okay, I'll try to be nicer. (Seriously, check your "facts" before you post them. I do!)

Look, I wouldn't have to treat you with a degree of ridicule if you didn't storm in here, with irrefutable proof, drove everyone against you with a not-so-subtle choice of words. It also would help if you didn't make the most surreal claims, like with the 2.3 trillion.

That would only increase the amount of unaccounted assets :p So, no, you cannot argue that the Pentagon was chosen as target to just get rid of unwanted documentation ;)

Why would he cover it up? It wasn't even his fault, he only worked there for 8 months! Those unaccounted assets were administrative errors. What they had was 50 years of corrupted, malformed and incomparable data. That data described transactions. Those transactions amounted to 2.3 trillion dollars. You don't solve this problem by blowing another country up, you solve it by getting your act together.

    About the video:
The man on the brancard talks about gunshots. The firemen talk about explosions at each level and the guy with the mustache talks about one big explosion. The last fireman talks about a bomb in the lobby. If I have to believe them all, there could be a war going on there. Larry Silverstein only talks about pull. I though Larry was one of the bad guys? :hmm: You're left wondering with what 'to pull' means, it's some jargon. It doesn't mean blowing it up (since that would implicate the firemen too,) it means pulling the men from the building and watch it burn down/collapse.

    Good night.

    Edit:
They still are enforced? Wow, I never knew that. What the heck.

***** you guys, I'm going home

[IMG] Even the government can't explain the collapse of WTC7, and you think a simple photo of a fire in the building is enough to shut me up.
Since all the evidence of Groud Zero was destroyed, no working theories can be tested. But you guys think that bringing up some figures, whether it be time calculations, or joules of energy, is going to prove what others can't.
Elevators causing earthquakes, support structure being on the outside, the construction of the tallest buildings in the world being shoddy, spanning wires snapping apart, the building offering no resistance while collapsing, the buildings practically being made of thermite, 110-storey buildings surviving a plane crash but being as fragile as a house of cards an hour later, people considering their opinions to be conclusive evidence, I've been willing to consider all these possibilities. I have shown myself to be reasonable on many occasions, demonstrated considerable patience, and taken many insults. I've tried my very best to keep this discussion going, but the arguments are one-sided, and arguments. It's getting too rich for my blood.
People taking insult over a single comment on religion, steering off topic on numerous occasions, nitpicking, mincing over words. The only *frequent* posters on this thread that debated properly, were Montresor and T2Bruno, the rest of the frequent posters... [I don't want another infraction]
You keep insisting that I'm being deliberately rude, making up absurd stories, avoiding questions, not listening to reason, etcetc.
I'm gonna take HarbourBoy's advice, and go back to playing computergames. Don't expect any immediate reactions anymore.
Hahaha:D too little too late *Morgoth*
    Nice exit-insult martaug, charming.
    :pGood riddance.

Yes, and in my opinion it's disgraceful.

Coin - People can disagree over such issues, especially one with such profound implications. But you are eintitled to your opinions regardless. Btw, I know one of the guys personally who put up one of the more poplular 9/11 conspiracy websites. Even though we have talked this out, I still disagree with him as well.

    Talk about timing....

Last night on The Discovery Channel there were two programs -- 9/11 The Towers and the Pentagon; and The Attack on the Pentagon. I though both were very good and would recommend them to anyone interested in the subject.

The first program was very analytical while the second was quite emotional.

9/11: The Towers and the Pentagon looked in depth at the structural aspect of the failure of the Towers and why the Pentagon too as little damage as it did. They interviewed scientists from NIST (which is the report I have read excerpts from) and forensic structural engineers hired by the insurance company. I had not heard the report from the engineers before -- they did a finite element analysis of the impact and the weakening affect of the subsequent fire. They we able to explain much of what happened including why one tower stood so much longer than the other.

I thought the analysis by the forensic structural engineers was fascinating. Two interesting comments in the show:

    - The jet fuel was nearly completely consumed in the impact. It was spread throughout three to four floors and ignited the tons of flammables (paper, furnature, carpet, etc.) in a matter of seconds. In essence, the fires broke out simultaneously on several floors which really accelerated the collapse.
    - The impact of the jet destroyed many of the supporting members. Just as significant, it stripped away the flame retardant on other steel supports which caused the accelerated failure of those supports.

The Attack on the Pentagon focused on the emotional toll the attack took on the members of the response teams and workers at the Pentagon. It went in depth into a couple of specific rescues and the desperation of members of the military and defense workers trying to save friends and coworkers. It was very interesting to see the simulation of the impact -- the plane was flying low enough that it knocked down light poles on the interstate just a few hunderd yards from the Pentagon. The plane was level when it hit the first and second floor of the wing. The black box, which is kept at the tail of the plane was found in the C ring at the very furthest point of damage by the plane -- the plane basically disintegrated as it pushed through the steel reinforced concrete; as one person interviewed put it 'the tail caught up with the nose.' That was quite an image to me (I believe the black box was found in the Navy Command Center). Another interesting point brought out: On September 12th approximately 15,000 Department of Defense workers voluntarily showed up to work in a burning building -- no one was willing to let the terrorists win.

    Great shows.

A note on T2Bruno's post: I remember hearing shortly after 9/11 that the US Department of Defence was in the process of strengthening the walls of the Pentagon at the time, and that the casualties would have been a lot heavier if the plane had hit one of the walls that hadn't yet been strengthened. I'm not sure if this strengthens or weakens the conspiracy theories – it can be interpreted both ways, depending on which side you're on.

[IMG] Dammit! I go away for one week and I miss all the fun!

Short of actually reading all 6 pages of this thread in detail, I would just like to say I subscribe to the theory that 9/11 was masterminded by that most nefarious of evil organizations, SEEK (headed by Santa Claus, Elvis, the Easter Bunny, and John F. Kennedy). I think the Wizard of Oz might be connected as well, but the evidence of his involvement is somewhat more elusive.

Splunge, I'm sure you can find a video on YouTube that will support your theory. There's videos on the web to "support" EVERY theory.

I'm sorry if we hurt your feelings, coin, so much so that you took your ball and went home. It's just that your arguments were much, much less convincing than the one proposed by the vast majority of the population. Plus, when you yourself bring up religion, and proceed to say something utterly ridiculous about something that you clearly know nothing about, don't go off whining that someone else tried to "derail" your thread. You brought it up, so pay the piper.

And by the way, "I was on a roll" is hardly an acceptable excuse for being deliberately insulting. The bottom line is, while you are entitled to your opinion, other people won't buy into it unless it is supported with something stronger than grainy videos and questionable science facts. I tell my English students this all the time -- you can have the opinion that Hamlet was a time travelling Soviet spy -- fine and dandy. Prove it using logic and reason, not ridiculous statements and far fetched leaps of logic.

Splunge: I don't see how you can attribute that to SEEK -- the thermate issue clearly involved the Tooth Fairy and the Heat Miser. And one cannot rule out the influence of the Head of Vecna in such a diabolical scheme.

(no offence coin -- I'm not directing any of that at you in any way)

No offense intended, but this topic doesn't belong in the Alleys, either. The great 911 conspiracy should be given no more respect than we give the Roswell aliens, the fake moon landing, the second gunman on the grassy knoll, holocaust denial, the AIDS "hoax", the Alien landings in Siberia, the survival of Anastasia, Elvis Sightings, Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, Jackalopes, Hugh Jackman's heterosexuality, "I did not have sexual relations with Monica Lewinski", "I'm not a crook", Bat Boy, the dire effects of Soda and Pop Rocks, Scientology, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Sorry, but some of those don't exactly fit together. And just because something's been labelled as a conspiracy theory by the majority doesn't necessarily mean that it really is. I know quite a few reasonable and well informed people who don't believe the moon landings actually happened (or at least not until later) and I don't dismiss them as nutters because of it. To be honest, if I did, I'd also have to dismiss any religious person equally. And last I checked, there's no "God doesn't exist, so any discussions about <insert your deity here> go into Whatnots" sign at the door. If you find a particular conspiracy theory too absurd to take seriously, just don't post, or do so in a manner that isn't derisive.

Tal, religion can only rarely be disproven and the existence of God can neither be proven nor disproven. Theories like the 911 conspiracy, the second gunman, the Roswell Aliens and the fake moon landing, are all easilly disproven with science, logic, and a bit of common sense. By simply examining all of the intellectual hoops you have to jump through to make a given conspiracy true, the reality becomes quite obvious. This isn't to say that people who buy into such tripe are themselves unreasonable; merely that they are misinformed, haven't thought things all the way through, or don't have all the information.

    A day's silence for 9/11, on thursday 9/11

[IMG] I appreciate Taluntain trying to keep my thread clean while I'm not about, but it is my responsibilty. He isn't choosing sides here, just protecting the integrity of his forum, so don't hold it against him. Maybe it's better to just let people unleash their poor attempts at humour. Or close the thread, if it gets too bad.

I'd like to follow up on a statement I made earlier about mormons. I said that they justified the extermination of American-Indians, because the indians killed Jesus. This is of course not true. The American-Indians killed Jesus' people in america, not Jesus himself. It was very wrong of me to quote South Park (and incorrectly too), as this cartoon is often insulting, and a much worse source of information than other media. So I did a bit of research, and dug up this video, which I offer to you as a peace offering. It's made by a mormon for mormons.

GOD made whites white and dark people dark because dark people remained neutral against Lucifer. BUT, this doesn't mean that every mormon has to be a white supremist SOB, this video shows that mormons can be fair and tolerant too:). Joseph Smith was just a product of his time, in which racism was perfectly normal. There's no reason to dismiss this prophet's teaching just because of that. I mean, Charles Darwin was a racist mofo too, but it doesn't devalue his research. The only difference is, you don't go to hell for not following Darwin's teachings.
So everybody, don't watch South Park. It doesn't offer valid critique against hypocrisy, it just insults people.

:D:lol::D Har dee har har! I knew that you guys got your information and opinions spoon-fed to you by the mass-media, but your sense of humour too? Did you envision 'canned laughter' when you were telling that joke? That was poor by anyone's standards. Even american comedy requires unexpected twists to supply their 'laughs per minute'. If you're such a fan of canned laughter, watch this joke that Bush tells. Be warned though: This time the joke's on you.

Yeah, maybe this vid will help you to figure out how that came about. Don't take my word, listen to a US veteran.

BTW did Morgoth also get an infraction for insulting religion? Oh well, it's OK to insult muslims, because they're nuts;).
[He didn't say all Muslims he said fanatics - BTA]
[We all know what he meant. You claim he just said 'fanatics are nuts', and 'muslims are' in the same sentence then? 'muslim fanatics are nuts' is the same as saying 'muslim crazy people are crazy people'. Well, 'mormon fanatics are nuts', does that sound acceptable to you?
    Methinks I smells an hypocrisy!]
[First, fanatics are not necessarily nuts so no, it is not the same. Second, you need to get your nose checked because you didn't say "mormon fanatics" you said the mormon religion in general. If you said "mormon fanatics are nuts" that would be fine as long as you aren't claiming all mormons are fanatics - BTA]

PLEASE, DON'T POST HERE ON 09/11:
I'd like to pay my respects to the victims of 09/11/2001, in my own small way, by not posting anything here on the upcoming anniversary, thursday ('a day's silence'). I'd like to suggest that others do the same. If you inadvertently missed this, I'm sure no one will hold it against you. It's just a suggestion for paying respect. Because whatever we think about 9/11, we can all agree that it was a tragic loss of life.

I can't see any videos that get posted here, so I'm a little in the dark on the content of what you posted, though I'm willing to bet it is anti-mormon in either intent or editing, but at least this time it appears that you did some sort of research before making your comment, which is all that I ask, even of the people who are openly hostile toward my faith. Kudos to you. Other than that I'll let the matter drop.

I can't say that I agree with or even respect much else that you've ever said, but I can certainly get behind this idea.

'Cept you don't go to hell for not following Mormon ones either ;)

As for saying that Muslim fanatics are nuts... he is referring to people who (allegedly  ) flew planes into buildings. I think we can agree that flying stuff into buildings in order to kill people (allegedly)... is nuts. I'm going to add that three of my best friends at my university are Muslims (two from Africa, one from Seattle) and they are in agreement with the statement that the fanatics don't have their head screwed on perfectly straight.

As for your video with veteren, I decided that it wouldn't be worth my time after about a minute when he says:

"I didn't join because of 9/11, cuz for me growing up in Kentucky I was working 50 hours a week, I was selling drugs to pay my child support, I was broke, I was a hood-rat. And I was growing up like you probably see a lot a kids running around in the ghetto right here."

Drug dealer to pay child support as a 'kid'... doesn't seem like a real responsible and honest individual. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he isn't credible (and I'm sure some of what he says is true), but when you make choices in life to be a dealer and have a kid... as a 'kid,' there's less likelihood that you are perfectly honest. And yes I know this is a stereotype, but there's a good reason for lots of them ;)

Probably I should add that I respect your display of respect.

Drew, that doesn't work. You can't say God might exist, but all conspiracy theories are false. By allowing for the existence of an omnipresent and omnipotent being(s) you must automatically also allow for their interference in everything that happens on this planet, including conspiracy theories. What you can't explain with science, logic or common sense could be the work of a higher power (benevolent OR malevolent) you may not be able to see or comprehend.

I'm playing the devil's advocate here, but you probably see where I'm going. Belief is everything. One man's religion is another's insane gibberish and one man's god is another's imaginary friend. I know what you were trying to say, but it isn't as simple as that. From my perspective, someone's fervent belief in a conspiracy theory is no different than a religious zealot's belief that their god is with them everywhere and at all times in whatever they do. And just like I'm not going to talk a hyper religious person out of their chosen god, I don't expect to talk a conspiracy theory believer out of their chosen conspiracy theory either.

To be honest, some conspiracy theories are easier to believe and much more convincing than many religions of today. In the end, it makes little difference if someone believes that aliens are walking among us or that Jesus is hiding in every tree.
