what lvl was your character at at the end of chapter 1 and 2?

I haven't played in a long time and I was wondering what is the average lvl of a character at the end of chapter 1 and 2?

About 14 to 15, I'd say.

 

I ended with 17 levels. I think my character only had 9 or 10 at the end of chapter 2, probably 5 or 6 at the end of chapter 1.

 

wow, those are 2 completely different answers. lvl 5 to 6 sounds right at the end of chapter 1 sounds about right..anyone else wanna put their 2 cents in? thanks

I thought as well. So what lvl were you at when you finished chapter lvl 1 and 2?

 

Well, one play-through I finished the game at 16, the other time I finished at so-close-to-19-the-first-kill-in-HotU-leveled-me-up. I'm positive that in both games I reached lvl 12 before entering Luskan. Level 8-9 at the end of chapter 1 is what I would consider pretty normal.

My last play-through I ended on 17, so I'd imagine 11/12 at the halfway mark.

never finished the OC whit a starting character. Whit a cheat I playe teh alst chapter but stoppens whit the two dragons. In the second run I did most sidequest ending at 17. I really liked the levelcap and SoU better than Hotu. After level 23 or so I lost track of all the spells and stats ruining the gameplay for me.

 

I just finished chapter 2 (long and boring) with a level 13 character. I have been trying to do all the sidequests on the way, at least everything that I was able to find. Hopefully chapter 3 will be more interesting...

 

I find class(es) you play impact the character level at the end of each chapter. Warrior classes tend to receive less XP than magic-using classes. Bards, Rogue, and Clerics are in the middle.

 

If you do absolutely every quest you can finish Chapter 1 at level 10 -- I remember doing that for sure. But that was serious power-gaming, i.e. picking up every henchman and doing his personal quest. Doing all the class-specific quests -- you can convince the quest givers if you have high enough Persuade skill.

Bare in mind that NWN scales all XP to your character's level, so killing a goblin when you're level 1 nets you 100 XP but killing the same goblin when you're level 10 nets you 2 XP. I finished at level 16.

Also, there seems to be some adjustment based on class. I think Bards end up getting the most XP -- I guess Bioware figured Bards needed the help but a properly-built Bard is one of the strongest characters you can make.

 

I believe mages and sorcerers classes earn the most XP as they are at a disadvantage due their HP.

 

Level 7-8 at the end of Chapter 1, and Level 12 - 13 at the end of Chapter 2. That's bearing in mind that I normally run & sneak my character through the prelude to get to level 3 and then go back, killing the leftover enemies. This normally nets ~1000 extra XP, although arcane casters can reach level 4 this way, with their low-level bonuses to XP. I find Rogues get slightly more too, and pure warriors the least.

 

I am one of those who do absolutely every quest and did finish Chapter 1 iirc at about level 10. And as for the end, I think it's been lvl 17, in a very inefficient paladin build (the daft one from the screenshot). Was iirc wielding a bastard sword and a light flail. Had a fabulous armour class.

It's been years since ... nowadays my chars are, thanks to my chronic re-starter syndrome, exceptionally well built but, well, on lower levels since I for some inexplicable reason don't manage to finish the re-runs

So, while I did a run through SoU, I never finished HotU. Hmm ...

 

This is a good way to add close to 1000xp to a character. If you want some cheese you could save the character and redo the Prelude. Wizards and Sorcerer come out as level 5 and all others come out as level 4.

What I find after that is through most of the OC you tend to get more XP as you advance when compared to just running through the game.

Right now I'm playing with a Monk where I did basic playing and the Monk was level 5 almost level 6, less than 500xp away, after defeating the brain devours, I have yet to return the creature though.

 

I think I was around level 6 when I finished chapter 1. And 12 or something at chapter 2. I finished the game once, as a female halfling Druid. I couldn`t decide what to play, so I let my dices decide for me.
