DotW; Is it me or do you enjoy being against about anything "normal" ? Is being marginal that important?

@Gnarff: I agree with revmaf and Loreseeker. Painkillers will hide the symptoms, they will not solve the real problem. But they may allow you to ignore the symptoms and work, which will hurt your back even more. :bad:

@revmaf: Enjoy your vacation, and if your boss is like mine used to be, DON'T bring a cell phone! :)

    Hmph!
I was going to babble something good....but somehow I accidentally clicked outside of the text box, and then hit backspace (the equivalent of hitting the back button)...so everything I had written was lost...and I'm too lazy to re-write it…and trust me when I say, the post that this *could* have been, would change the world! But no, I had to go and make a slip of the wrist, and now none of you shall know the secret of immortality.
Sucks to be you. :p :rolling:

Well, I didn't expect to go dog-walking today. Especially because I don't have a dog.

Nope - never trust anyone who says "trust me". Also when someone tells you not to worry, worry.

It's not about my being marginal, it's about spring/summer, and these are two seasons I despise with passion. I hate the hot weather, I hate the humidity, I hate the fact that decency gets thrown out by the window, I hate the heatwaves, and I hate the sun... cursed thing!

But since you bring up the topic of my marginality... I'll tell you this - I'd rather be a black sheep than be a part of the flock.

    You got that right.

    Ewww Ewww Ewww Ewwwwwwwww....

I just got back for my appointment from my optometrist, and I got contacts for the first time.... It feels so weird to have something on my eye.
Oh yeah, did I mention that things touching my eye make me squimish. :bad:

On the plus side, I can wear my wicked sweet Oakley sunglasses I bought awhile ago! :D  :rolling:

Yes! I'm back with a working internet connection. Two days without any real computering.

Two - freaking - days. The horror.

I've had contacts for 12 years now, and yes, it's unpleasent at first. After a week or so you won't even feel them anymore. I wouldn't go back to wearing glasses ever.

Well, I'll admit having a computer around is fun, given easy access to one I'd probably won't resist. But sometimes when I put my mind to it, I can do without one. I enjoy doing "other" stuff that doesn't require digital devices. Computers are great, it's just isn't a good idea to rely too much upon them, or anything for that matter.

I, for one, enjoyed this sunny spring day (10 C) :p - I took a long solitary walk (as I usually do every day) it felt good to only wear a wool sweater and no winter coat.

wearing glasses / contact isn't that bad, I wear glasses and I'm happy, at least I can see right. I guess it's my own fault - too much reading in dim light :shake:

    Grrrr...

The high winds here have kicked up a lot of dust in to the air...so much so that you can't see for more than a mile...and as I'm drining home, it starts raining mud. :skeptic: By the time I got home, my nice clean car looked like a dog that just rolled around in a puddle of mud. :flaming:

That was about an hour ago...and now it's snowing. :bad: :rolling:

@Kitrax: What kind of contacts do you have (eg daily, weekly, monthly, etc)?

Did some brief reading today, and I think it may actually be the nerve. Between sitting at my computer as much as I do, and all the lifting I do when I work make me a prime candidate. I have two weeks to clean up one area out back before the old man gets seriously pisse doff at me, and I have some hay to move this week (a little bit every week until early June, then early July I'll have to help fill the barn again) means that I doubt the rest will be a viable option...

/waves said ingredient under Dfly's nose

    Just messing with ya. :p

Seriously... I don't know about you, but some of my best ideas pop when I'm not forcing creativity. The raven, for example - I was half-asleep when the idea popped in my mind.

Just my luck - as I was going to school, I had my hand on the door's knob. The phone rang, it surprised me, who would call here at 7h15 AM ? It was the college's automatic service telling me my 8h00 - and only class of the day - is cancelled. :D

Funny thing I was thinking of skipping this class but finally I resolve myself to go anyway. It seems to me fate had decided otherwise.

In my left eye I have a "firm" lens from Bausch and Lomb, and in my right eye I have a "soft" lens that's an Acuvue 2. The Bausch and Lomb lens is a monthly, and the Acuvue 2 is a weekly.

The Bausch and Lomb lens feels horrible...and it's the hardest damn thing to get off my eye. :bad: I'm definitely going with the Acuvue 2 once this trial week is over. :rolling:
